Responsibilities
- Oversee and support themonth-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Provide overallaccounting and finance oversight.
- Review accounting activity, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements as needed.
- Coordinate and provide support for theannual audit, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities forprocess improvement, stronger controls, and increased efficiency within the accounting function.
- Lead and support thebudgeting and forecasting process.
- Monitor financial results and assist with budget-to-actual analysis.
- Partner with organizational leadership on financial reporting and accounting matters.
- Provide hands-on support to the accounting team and help address issues that arise during the contract engagement.
- Nonprofit accounting experience required.
- Significant experience in aController, Director of Finance, or similar senior accounting/finance role.
- Strong knowledge ofmonth-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general accounting.
- Experience leading or supportingfinancial statement audits.
- Hands-on experience withbudgeting and forecasting.
- Demonstrated ability to assess accounting processes and implementprocess improvements.
- NetSuite experience a plus
- CPA preferred, but not required.
- Public accounting experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to quickly assess an accounting environment and contribute in a hands-on contract capacity.
