Contract Analyst (Junior)

About the Role

This role sits inside a five-person Corporate Services Contracts team at a major energy infrastructure organization and is focused on supporting the team's annual renewal season, where roughly 200 agreements are brought to new terms before year-end. The work centers on IS and enterprise security contracts specifically: software licensing agreements, Master Service Agreements, and Statements of Work. Early on, the existing team walks new members through each renewal type; independence is expected to build naturally as category familiarity grows. Anything that turns legally complex routes to legal, cybersecurity, or security operations specialists rather than sitting with this role.

The strongest fit here is someone who spots a deadline risk early and surfaces it to the right stakeholder before it becomes a problem, not after. Beyond that proactive communication style, the team is looking for a solid generalist with three to five years of supply chain, procurement, or contract administration experience and genuine hands-on SAP work they can speak to specifically. Direct IS or IT category experience is a plus and will get a closer look, but it is not a requirement to be considered.

Key Responsibilities

1. Administer IS and enterprise security contract renewals across software licensing agreements, Master Service Agreements, and Statements of Work
2. Track renewal timelines and flag deadline risks to relevant stakeholders before they become issues
3. Coordinate with legal, cybersecurity, and security operations teams when agreements raise complexity beyond the scope of this role
4. Maintain accurate contract, purchase order, and supplier records in SAP throughout the renewal cycle
5. Support the broader five-person contracts team with day-to-day administrative tasks during peak renewal season
6. Build category familiarity over the course of the assignment to work with increasing independence on standard renewals

Required Skills & Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or contract administration (general experience floor, not IS or IT specific)
• Hands-on SAP experience with the ability to describe specific work administering contracts, purchase orders, or supplier records, not simply listing it as a skill
• Demonstrated negotiation skills through prior work history or relevant training
• Proactive communication style, particularly around surfacing deadline risk before it becomes a problem
• Native or bilingual English proficiency
• Availability for a hybrid schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday on-site in Calgary; Wednesday and Friday remote

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience in IT or IS category sourcing
• SAP Ariba experience, which serves as a differentiator between otherwise comparable candidates
