DCG ONE is one of the largest privately held marketing service providers in the country. Based in Seattle, with locations in NYC and Maryland, we help companies deliver their brand worldwide through creative, print, and fulfillment services.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Content Architect designs and maintains the structured content model that DCG ONE's client websites and digital experiences are built on. Working between content strategy and engineering, this role defines the shared set of content types, fields, and relationships that every client engagement draws on, much as a shared component library gives every client site the same underlying building blocks.

This role has two connected responsibilities: owning and evolving DCG ONE's shared content model, and leading its application on client engagements. As an individual contributor within DCG ONE's digital practice. The ideal candidate brings enthusiasm for AI and an understanding of how structured content makes AI capabilities possible, from generative tools to AI-powered search. If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply.

BENEFITS

  • Paid Time Off
  • Medical, Dental, Vision
  • Life/AD&D Insurance
  • 401(k) with matching
  • Accident Insurance
  • FSA, HSA
  • 9 Paid Holidays
  • Monthly Cookie Days!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and maintain DCG ONE's content model, including content types, fields, relationships, and validation rules, so it works equally well whether content is delivered via a website, app, AI assistant, search experience, or new channels that may emerge in the future.
  • Define the reusable content types, authoring structures, and page-content patterns that client sites are assembled from, partnering with design and engineering on how those structures are represented in interface components.
  • Create the taxonomies, metadata standards, and tagging frameworks that make content findable and classifiable across search, personalization, and AI retrieval.
  • Lead the governance of the shared model, reviewing new content types, fields, or blocks requested by project teams to keep the model consistent rather than accumulating one-off, client-specific exceptions.
  • Oversee client engagements, translating each client's positioning and messaging into the model and producing content models, mapping specs, and editor guidance.
  • Collaborate with designers and writers to fit client content into the model, flagging gaps early and bringing them back through the review process so the shared model improves rather than splintering by client.
  • Partner closely with Content Strategy, turning their messaging direction into structure, and Engineering, who implement the model. Also works regularly with design, project teams, digital practice leadership, and pre-sales.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years in information architecture, content strategy, content modeling, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience designing a content model from scratch (content types, fields, relationships, and taxonomies), not only configuring one someone else specified.
  • Experience defining structured content for a headless or hybrid CMS, ideally platforms such as Storyblok, Contentful, Sanity, Contentstack, or Payload.
  • Comfortable working with engineers on technical concepts such as APIs, schemas, and structured data formats (e.g., JSON); writing production code is not required.
  • Strong information architecture fundamentals: content inventories and audits, card sorting, taxonomy design, and planning content reuse across channels rather than page by page.
  • Experience translating brand or messaging strategy (positioning, value propositions, claims, personas) into structured, reusable content, not just page copy.
  • Ability to document complex systems clearly enough that non-technical stakeholders, including editors, writers, and clients, can use them confidently.
  • Strong interest in AI and how it is changing content creation and discovery, with a working understanding of how structured content supports generative AI, AI-driven experiences, and AI-powered search.
  • May be required to complete and pass Public Trust Security Clearance

Preferred Experience

  • Migrating content from a legacy CMS into a new structured model.
  • Modeling content beyond the CMS, such as PIM, DAM, or commerce platforms.
  • Agency or multi-client experience.
  • Hands-on work combining AI and structured content (e.g., RAG, knowledge graphs, schema.org for GEO/AEO).
  • Owning a governance process for a shared system used by multiple teams.
