About the Role
We are seeking an expertSenior AI Red Teamer & Ecosystem Quality Specialist to join our advanced AI evaluation team based in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping the safety, performance, and cultural alignment of next-generation multimodal AI models integrated deeply within the Android and Google ecosystem for Japanese users. You will combine deep technical engineering diagnostics with rigorous safety frameworks to ensure our models are helpful, honest, harmless, and optimized for real-world device performance in the Japanese market.Key Responsibilities
- Android & Ecosystem Performance Testing: Conduct rigorous end-to-end (E2E) experiential testing and performance engineering on Android devices within the Japanese mobile environment, assessing latency, resource consumption, and hardware-software interactions.
- Adversarial Red Teaming: Proactively probe multimodal AI models using creative and adversarial prompting techniques tailored to Japanese linguistic structures and cultural contexts to uncover vulnerabilities, hallucinations, and safety boundaries.
- HHH Model Evaluation: Systematically evaluate AI outputs against Helpful, Honest, and Harmless (HHH) alignment standards to ensure safe, reliable user interactions for Japanese-speaking users.
- Multimodal Output Analysis: Critically review and analyze complex, cross-modal AI outputs (text, voice, vision, and device actions) with high technical rigor.
- Data Annotation & Localization: Provide native-level Japanese linguistic data annotation and leverage deep local cultural awareness to drive localized, high-quality data generation.
Required Qualifications
- Deep Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with the Android operating system, performance engineering, device-level diagnostic tools, and E2E testing methodologies.
- AI Safety & Alignment Background: Proven track record in adversarial red teaming, vulnerability discovery, and HHH model evaluation frameworks.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong critical thinking and data-driven problem-solving skills to evaluate complex multimodal AI outputs and behavioral patterns.
- Linguistic & Cultural Mastery:Native-level Japanese fluency (written and spoken) with deep, nuanced understanding of Japanese culture, social context, and regional communication styles for precise data annotation. Bilingual proficiency in English is also required for cross-functional collaboration.
- Collaboration & Communication: Ability to translate complex technical findings and safety edge cases into actionable insights for global engineering and alignment teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in Machine Learning Operations (MLOps), Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), or Trust & Safety domains.
- Prior experience working directly within or alongside the Google ecosystem, Japanese mobile carrier environments, or the Android platform architecture.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python) or automated testing frameworks for mobile environments.
- Extensive professional experience (5+ years) within the Japanese technology market.
