
Construction Project Manager

Crowhurst Careers & Consulting is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Construction Project Manager on behalf of our esteemed client. Our client operates across multiple locations in the United States and is looking for experienced professionals to join their dynamic team.
Primary Function:
As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive management direction for a field project or multiple smaller projects. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, including 2 years managing Department of Defense (DoD) airfield projects.
Typical Duties:
Plan, organize, and strategically staff key field positions through regional department heads.
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy.
Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients and A/E contacts to facilitate construction activities.
Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendents, ensuring projects are built on schedule and within budget. Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Represent the company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, and perform additional assignments as needed.
Manage financial aspects of contracts, including fee payments, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc., to protect the company's interests while maintaining a positive relationship with the client.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:
Educational and experience requirements include a 4-year engineering degree or equivalent, along with extensive (ten or more years) experience and knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management.
Must possess the ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards, and their impact on project activities is vital.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and influence, are essential.
Must be a business-oriented person.
Comments:
Reports to the Vice President or Senior Project Manager.
Makes decisions and recommendations that can significantly impact the corporate relationship with the client and project profitability.
Management responsibility is generally limited to smaller, less critical projects.
