Job Title: Construction Engineer
Location: Plano, TX
Contract Duration: 12 months
Overtime: 10-15%

Travel: At least 50% (About a week at a time)
Travel to: East or West regional sites in USA

Project Controls team is seeking two Construction Engineers based in Plano, Texas: one supporting the East Region and one supporting the West Region. Each engineer will coordinate feasibility studies, design development, and construction oversight across an assigned regional portfolio of up to 30 concurrent projects and studies at different stages. The role requires sound judgment, proactive follow-through, strong stakeholder communication, and a commitment to safe project delivery and Respect for People.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate feasibility studies by gathering owner and stakeholder requirements, evaluating options with architecture and engineering teams, and documenting scope, constraints, risks, and recommendations.

- Support design development and design reviews; coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and internal partners to resolve questions and align designs with owner requirements.

- Oversee assigned construction through site visits, progress and quality reviews, contractor coordination, and timely resolution or escalation of field issues.

- Support Project Controls by maintaining schedules, budgets, forecasts, milestones, risks, changes, and action logs; identify variances and recommend corrective actions.

- Keep key stakeholders engaged throughout the project lifecycle, including operations, facilities, safety, IT, security, and design and construction partners; track decisions and follow through on commitments.

- Prepare weekly project status updates and weekly and monthly executive updates summarizing progress, cost and schedule performance, risks, decisions needed, and recommended actions.

- Apply extensive construction safety experience to review safety planning and documentation, monitor site safety expectations, and promptly escalate unsafe conditions and unresolved concerns.

- Prioritize up to 30 concurrent projects and feasibility studies at different stages; maintain reliable records and coordinate design reviews, schedules, and project information using Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Procore.

- Demonstrate Respect for People, communicate clearly and constructively, apply critical thinking, and proactively move issues and actions to resolution. Travel at least 50% to support assigned regional sites

Requirements:

Qualifications:(Highlight Top 3-5 skills)

- Eight or more years of construction experience with an owner's representative, general contractor, architecture/engineering firm, or a comparable organization with transferable responsibilities.

- Demonstrated experience coordinating design development and overseeing construction, with the ability to read and review drawings, scopes, schedules, and construction documentation.

- Extensive experience with construction safety practices, recognizing site hazards, reviewing safety documentation, and coordinating timely action on safety concerns.

- Experience using Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Procore for design review, scheduling, project documentation, and reporting.

- Strong stakeholder engagement and written and verbal communication skills, including clear updates to executives; proven ability to manage competing project priorities, apply critical thinking, and follow through proactively with Respect for People. Ability to travel at least 50%.

Education/Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.

Added bonus:

- Owner's representative experience on commercial construction projects, or experience with similar, clearly transferable project delivery responsibilities.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering.

- Completion of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training.
