Construction Coordinator

Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking an organized, collaborative, and results-driven professional to serve as a Construction Coordinator within the Operations Work Management Group while supporting the Gas Planner Analyst team and Gas Construction department. This role coordinates pre-construction activities and secures the requirements needed for efficient execution of planned Gas construction work or projects.

As a Construction Coordinator, you will serve as a key partner in the planning and scheduling process by supporting project readiness activities, securing required permits and approvals, coordinating utility locates, and maintaining accurate data. This role plays an important part in ensuring planned work can be executed as scheduled by proactively identifying and resolving permitting, coordination, and readiness issues before construction begins.

This position offers the opportunity to directly contribute to the successful delivery of Gas construction work and projects by bridging the gap between planning and execution, helping ensure work is prepared, coordinated, and positioned for success.

Who You Are:

  • The ideal Construction Coordinator candidate is one who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys coordinating across multiple work groups and external agencies, and excels at managing the details necessary to keep projects on track for execution
  • The successful candidate will work closely with planner analysts, field personnel, utility locators, city and county representatives, Utilities customers, and Colorado 811 personnel to ensure construction work is properly scoped, permitted, coordinated, and ready for execution
  • Experience with Utility or Construction and or related licenses, apprenticeships or certifications would be helpful

*A valid, unrestricted driver's license is required for this role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
-  Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary work. Even though the weight lifted may be of only negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those is negligible.
-  Positions in this class typically require reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
