At Rotorua Lakes Council, we're guided by Tai Kawenga - the values we carry and the principles that carry us forward. Our purpose is to be Customer Focused, Community Driven, and People at the Heart, and we're looking for a highly organised and proactive Compliance Administrator to join our Community & Regulatory Services team.
Reporting to the Manager, Community & Regulatory Services, this role provides specialist administrative and business support that enables the effective delivery of Council's regulatory, licensing, and compliance functions. You'll play an important role in ensuring statutory obligations, customer service standards, and legislative timeframes are met while supporting a wide range of regulatory activities across Council.
This is a varied and fast-paced position where you'll manage and maintain regulatory databases and records, support reporting requirements, coordinate administrative processes, and provide high-level support to managers and team leaders. You'll also work closely with customers and stakeholders, helping resolve enquiries and contributing to the smooth delivery of services across areas such as environmental health, licensing, animal control, bylaw compliance, and resource management functions.
We're looking for someone with proven administration or business support experience, excellent organisational skills, and a strong customer-focused approach. You'll be confident working with a range of technology systems, capable of managing competing priorities, and comfortable using initiative to solve problems and improve processes. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive working relationships will be key to your success.
A tertiary qualification or relevant administration experience is desirable, along with strong proficiency in technology and business systems. Knowledge of local government legislation, regulatory processes, GIS, document management systems, or compliance-related environments would be advantageous.
At Rotorua Lakes Council, you'll join a collaborative and supportive organisation committed to delivering great outcomes for our community. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside passionate professionals, contribute to meaningful work, and help improve services that make a real difference for Rotorua.
If you're an organised, solutions-focused administrator who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and supporting important community services, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and become part of a team dedicated to keeping our community safe, informed, and thriving.
