• lan, install, and maintain data protection solutions (Commvault Suite) to support hosted systems (Windows/Linux/MW/Oracle/SQL).
• Install and configure Data Domain systems in DC/DR.
• Develop and maintain daily operational procedures for Commvault Suite.
• Configure, monitor, and maintain backup device security to meet security technical implementation guidelines.
• Respond to and resolve backup and restore requests and issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backup and restore performance issues.
• Provide technical and configuration data for planning and reporting.
• Install and configure new backup solutions (Commvault), Data Domain, and bring them into production.
• Perform test backup and recovery for various application types and validate all necessary features.
• Add vCenter to the new backup solution for auto-discovery of VMs.
• Identify Datacenter/Folder/Resource Group containing Test/Dev VMs.
• Assign appropriate SLA policies and initiate VM protection.
• Ensure VMs are not backed up by previous backup systems to avoid duplicate copies.
• Manage Backup Tape Library and Data Domain.
• Participate in root cause analysis for incidents and ensure timely resolution.
• Follow ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Emergency Change Management.
• Work on Service Improvement Plans and innovation initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex and business-critical issues.
• Work on team skill enhancement and identify training needs.
• Create best practice documents, known error records, and knowledge base articles.
• Maintain agreed SLAs.
• Provide reports as agreed in the SOW.
• Perform chargeback estimation, provisioning, and documentation tasks.
• Produce regular reports for management to support cost recovery, capacity planning, and consolidation.
• Plan media rotation, management, and offsite movement.
• Schedule new backups and modify existing backup jobs.
• Troubleshoot backup performance issues (network and configuration).
• Troubleshoot catalog-related issues, including configuration and inconsistency issues.
• Troubleshoot exceeded disk thresholds and replica inconsistencies in Backup-to-Disk environments.
• Train and orient staff on the use of hardware and software.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation.
• Take ownership of issues from end-to-end until resolution.
• Provide consistent customer support to all staff levels.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professionalism under stress.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts for complex problem resolution.
• Communicate effectively with end users, managers, and technical staff.

Skills

• Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience with Commvault and Data Domain/Tape Library on Windows and Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with Commvault implementation.
• Knowledge of deduplication, compression, and replication setup.
• Familiarity with IP Network, WAN, and LAN-free (SAN) based backup design and configuration.
• Familiarity with data protection and backup recovery solutions, including virtual tape, disk-to-disk-to-tape, and data replication.
• Unix and/or Windows systems administration experience.
• Experience configuring and maintaining NDMP backups for various NAS technologies.
• Experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting database backups.
• Knowledge of Commvault tools and backup technologies.
• Experience developing, modifying, and maintaining shell scripts (Bash, Perl, etc.).
• Strong documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Commvault Backup Software Certification.
• Qualification: B.Tech or equivalent Bachelor's degree.
