We are looking for a Community Support Specialist to join our team in our Ansonia Adult Outpatient Clinic.
This is a part-time, 20 hours per week position. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 9am-1pm.
Candidates must reside in Connecticut to be eligible for this position.
What You Will Do:
This role is all about helping clients build independence and achieve their goals through skill-building, motivational support, and connection to community resources.
- Provide individual and group support services using a psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery-oriented approach.
- Help clients build daily living, self-advocacy, health, wellness, and recovery skills.
- Connect clients with medical, behavioral health, educational, vocational, and community resources.
- Provide outreach, crisis intervention, and support to clients and families as needed.
- Assist clients in developing natural supports and meaningful connections within their communities.
- Support clients in learning transportation skills and provide limited transportation when appropriate.
- Complete assessments, recovery plans, progress notes, treatment plan reviews, discharges, and other documentation within required timeframes.
What You Will Bring:
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or College coursework equivalent (2 years) and 2 years’ work exp in behavioral health field OR high school diploma and minimum of 4 years of experience in the behavioral health field required.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable at a reasonable rate under the Organization’s auto insurance plan.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft 365. Must be able to navigate through electronic health records system (EHR).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- RSS certification, mental health certification or related and acceptable training preferred.
- Knowledge of Psychiatric Rehabilitation is desirable.
What We Offer
The anticipated salary range for this position is $21.69 - $25.00. Actual compensation offered will be determined based on a variety of factors including relevant skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, and internal equity considerations.
