Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual to support the delivery of an innovative and equity-focused residential energy efficiency program for our client’s customers based in Central Oregon.

About the roleĀ

Our income-qualified program delivers no-cost and low-cost energy efficiency upgrades, including insulation, air sealing, heating and cooling systems, duct work, and related health and safety repairs. We are adding a role to our Central Oregon team to lead outreach and connect eligible households with the program.Ā

The role starts with a focus on outreach: strengthening relationships with the agencies, organizations, and local institutions that serve income-qualified households, and turning those relationships into program referrals. You will develop and lead the outreach strategy for the region. As referral volume grows, you will take on in-home energy assessments, and over time the role settles at approximately 60% assessments and 40% outreach.

Ā

We are looking for someone with established ties to the community, a talent for building relationships, along with the technical aptitude to assess a home.Ā

What you'll doĀ

Outreach and referral development (the focus at the start; about 40% long term)Ā

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with social service providers, housing providers, municipalities, schools, and other local organizations that serve income-qualified householdsĀ
  • Develop and carry out the strategy for generating referrals in Central Oregon, and track resultsĀ
  • Represent the program at community events, workshops, and partner meetings, including some evenings and weekendsĀ
  • Contribute to the marketing plan for the regionĀ
  • Reach underserved communities in the places where they already get informationĀ
  • Report outreach activity, referral sources, and results to program managementĀ

Home energy assessments (added as referral volume grows; about 60% long term)Ā

  • Conduct in-home energy assessments in occupied homes: building envelope, insulation, HVAC, and diagnostic testingĀ
  • Document existing conditions and write Home Energy Assessment reports with recommended upgradesĀ
  • Determine program eligibility and explain findings, scope, and next steps to homeowners in plain languageĀ
  • Hand each project off to the program team with complete, accurate documentationĀ

What we're looking for

RequiredĀ

  • 3+ years in a community-facing or in-home role (outreach, partnership development, sales, home performance, weatherization, home inspection, construction, or similar), including demonstrated outreach or lead generation results you can describeĀ
  • Strong written and verbal English. The Home Energy Assessment report will be a core deliverable of this role and must be clear and accurateĀ
  • Ability to explain technical information to homeowners in plain languageĀ
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and unconditioned spacesĀ
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle. Expect regular driving across Central OregonĀ
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based roleĀ
  • Must live in Central Oregon, in Crook, Deschutes, or Jefferson countiesĀ

Strongly preferredĀ

  • Existing relationships with Central Oregon agencies, nonprofits, or other organizations serving low-income householdsĀ
  • Working knowledge of residential building systems, HVAC, and energy efficiency measuresĀ
  • BPI Building Analyst Technician certification (not required to apply; see below)Ā
  • Spanish fluencyĀ
  • Experience with utility-funded, weatherization, or other income-qualified programsĀ

Certification and trainingĀ

BPI Building Analyst Technician certification is required before you begin conducting assessments. You do not need to hold it when you apply. If you don't, we cover the full cost of training and exam fees and schedule the training on paid work time. If your strength is outreach and your building science background is limited, we'll train you on the technical side.Ā

Compensation and logistics

Starting salary: $75,000 to $85,000.Ā

  • Mileage reimbursed at $0.76 per mileĀ
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus a company-paid health care concierge serviceĀ
  • 401(k) with company matchĀ
  • Paid vacation, sick, personal, and parental leaveĀ
  • Paid volunteer timeĀ
  • Employee recognition program and on-demand career trainingĀ

Where you'll work:This is a field position serving Central Oregon, with a home office for reporting and administrative work.Ā

Pre-employment:Employment is contingent on a background check and drug screening, including THC.Ā
