About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Community Marketing Manager to own local and community marketing strategy at the branch level. This person will bring 5 to 10 years of marketing experience, with deep expertise in social media and a proven track record of building brand awareness through community-based initiatives. This is a strategic and hands-on role: you will work collaboratively with branch leadership, developing the local marketing agenda, execute independently, and be trusted to make judgment calls on where and how the brand shows up in its community, while staying aligned with corporate brand standards and broader campaign strategy.
Location: GTA/Hamilton (Remote/Hybrid)
What You'll Do
Organic Social Media Strategy and Management
- Own the branch's organic social media strategy end to end: content pillars, cadence, platform mix, and voice, aligned to seasonal service demand (heating season, cooling season, plumbing/electrical needs)
- Direct content creation (in-house or with freelance/contractor support) and personally produce content where needed
- Analyze performance data to refine strategy, not just track vanity metrics; tie social activity to brand awareness and lead generation outcomes
- Manage online reputation, escalating appropriately
Local and Community Marketing Strategy
- Work with the branches to identify, evaluate, and prioritize local sponsorship, event, and partnership opportunities using a clear ROI/impact lens, not just visibility for its own sake
- Build and manage relationships with local organizations, business associations, media, and complementary local businesses to create ongoing co-marketing opportunities
- Design and lead branch presence at community events end to end: strategy, budget, staffing, materials, and post-event follow-up
- Develop a local marketing calendar that integrates community initiatives with broader campaign and seasonal plans
- Manage local promotion calendar
Local Media: Radio, Trafficking, and Out-of-Home
- Manage local radio advertising end to end: brief and write (or refine) scripts, and coordinate production
- Traffic creative and media materials to radio stations, publishers, and out-of-home vendors, ensuring the correct versions, specs, and deadlines are met, and confirm proof of performance after flights run
- Plan, negotiate, and book out-of-home (OOH/DOOH) placements such as billboards, transit, and street-level signage, selecting locations based on branch service areas, traffic patterns, and campaign timing
Strategic Ownership and Leadership
- Set and manage a local marketing budget, making trade-off decisions across social, sponsorships, and community initiatives
- Serve as the local expert who brings market intelligence (competitor activity, community sentiment, local trends) back to marketing leadership
- Empower the local branch operators to participate and bring forward local initiatives.
- Report on local marketing performance and ROI to branch and marketing leadership, with clear recommendations, not just activity summaries
What You Bring
- 5 to 10 years of marketing experience, with demonstrated depth in social media strategy and execution
- A track record of building local or community marketing programs that produced measurable brand or business impact
- Strong strategic judgment: able to identify which local opportunities are worth pursuing and which aren't
- Established ability to build and manage relationships with community organizations, local media, and business partners
- Comfortable owning a budget and making resourcing decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong command of brand voice and tone
- Data-literate: able to read social and campaign performance data and translate it into strategy adjustments
- Experience in home services, trades, or another local/service-based industry is strongly preferred
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to events and community activities
Success Looks Like
- Measurable growth in local brand awareness and social engagement, tied to business outcomes (leads, reviews, referrals)
- A local marketing calendar and community partnership portfolio built on strategic fit, not just activity volume
- Local marketing execution that consistently reinforces local in-market brand  never conflicts with overarching  campaign strategy
