SUMMARY
The Community Engagement Liaison will support the mission of COA by bolstering public engagement and community outreach. This position serves as the link between COA and volunteers, clients and donors, both current and prospective. This role is responsible for coordinating COA’s volunteer program, outreach activities, and assist with the cultivation of donor relations.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Responsible to the Co-Executive Director and has a support responsibility to other departments as necessary. Â
- Responsible for the supervision of assigned volunteers, as applicable.
Â
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with all departments to assess volunteer needs and identifies opportunities for community engagement and resource development.
Â
- Recruits volunteers using a variety of strategies and platforms. Collects and manages information on volunteer skills, availability, interests, and goals to ensure optimal placement. Â

- Promotes and enhances programs by increasing community participation and sponsorships, including initiatives such as the Meals on Wheels Adopt-a-Route and Senior Center Activities.

- Plans and executes volunteer recognition initiatives, including appreciation events, website highlights, newsletter content, thank-you cards, and other activities designed to ensure volunteers feel engaged and valued.

- Develops, updates, and enforces guidelines, best practices, and standard operating procedures for the volunteer program.

- Maintains consistent and meaningful communication with volunteers, serving as the primary liaison to ensure a high-quality volunteer experience.

- Takes photographs, coordinates photography at various events, programs; maintains photo and media libraries, and consent forms.
Â
- Builds and sustains partnerships with community organizations, such as local Chambers of Commerce, to promote COA’s mission and expand support networks.
Â
- Creates and distributes a regular newsletter by gathering content, writing and editing articles, designing layout, and coordinating distribution. Responsible for ensuring content is engaging, accurate, and aligned with the organization’s goals.

- Schedules and delivers presentations on COA’s services and volunteer opportunities; facilitates Be bOld! community trainings and meets individually with potential clients, service providers, and referral sources.

- Supports event logistics including invitations, RSVPs, ticketing, and vendor coordination to ensure successful execution.
 - Supports development and fundraising activities, as needed.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Excellent organizational skills, with strong ability to manage records and other information resources to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Demonstrated knowledge of group process and proven ability to work as part of a team.

- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, excellent project management to be able to collaborate, multi-task, and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to perform assigned duties with frequent interruptions.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues throughout COA, other constituents and the public.

Â
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree; two years of related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Â
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:Â
- Performs sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted and temperature-controlled office setting.
Â
- Frequent need to sit, stand, stoop, walk, talk and hear, may occasionally need to lift up to 25 pounds.
