Overview
We are seeking an experienced Communications Specialist / Marketing Communications Consultant to develop, edit, and manage customer-facing communications across a variety of programs and initiatives. This role is responsible for transforming complex information into clear, compelling content while ensuring consistency with brand standards, messaging guidelines, and AP style requirements.The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor with experience in marketing communications, public relations, journalism, or professional writing. Success in this role requires exceptional communication skills, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop concepts and write content for a wide range of communications and marketing projects.
- Create, edit, proofread, and revise:
- Marketing collateral
- Direct mail communications
- Promotional materials
- Articles and newsletters
- Customer communications
- Print and digital content
- Work directly with stakeholders and internal customers to gather requirements and manage content requests.
- Access and manage project requests through Microsoft Planner and related workflow tools.
- Adapt messaging, tone, and style based on audience, communication channel, and business objectives.
- Collaborate with design teams to submit content for production and answer content-related questions.
- Review and proof final materials to ensure compliance with brand, quality, and communication standards.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Participate in regular team meetings and project reviews.
- Support communications planning, execution, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Journalism
- Professional Writing
- Public Relations
- Communications
- Related field
- 5-10 years of professional experience in:
- Marketing Communications
- Corporate Communications
- Public Relations
- Content Development
- Copywriting
- Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills
- Advanced knowledge of AP Style
- Experience developing:
- Marketing collateral
- Direct mail campaigns
- Customer communications
- Print communications
- Strong business collaboration and client management skills
- Experience managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication planning and execution experience
- Ability to maintain consistency while adapting messaging for different audiences
