Job Overview

As a Commissioning Engineer at Big Sky Operations, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing the commissioning process for MEP and control systems across various projects. You will ensure that all systems are thoroughly inspected and tested, and that they meet design specifications, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute commissioning of MEP and control systems from construction through project handover

• Develop commissioning plans, testing procedures, schedules, and documentation

• Perform inspections, functional testing, and performance verification against design intent

• Troubleshoot and resolve system deficiencies to ensure safe, efficient operation

• Support MEP design reviews and constructability assessments

• Coordinate on-site commissioning activities with technicians, contractors, and trade partners

• Ensure systems comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements

• Prepare, review, and maintain commissioning reports, test results, and turnover documentation

• Support project managers with commissioning deliverables, tracking, and closeout activities

• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to meet project schedules and quality goals

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience executing and leading the commissioning process.

• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.

• Familiarity with commissioning procedures, testing methodologies, and industry standards.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information

This position requires travel to various sites across the United States. Candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed to fulfill project requirements. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
