– Facilities Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of maintenance tasks to support the overall performance and safety of pistachio & almond production. These may include performing tasks in multiple areas. Tasks may be performed across multiple facilities. This role performs general facility maintenance, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance to support safe and reliable operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs routine inspections of facility equipment and building systems to identify damage, wear, or other maintenance concerns.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains interior and exterior fixtures, equipment, and building components.
- Inspects baghouses and related equipment for product leaks or buildup and performs or coordinates necessary maintenance.
- Inspects conveyors and related components; tightens belts, lubricates bearings, and addresses other routine maintenance needs.
- Performs preventive maintenance on air handlers, including inspections and replacement of belts, filters, and other components.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of HVAC systems and assists with routine maintenance, inspections, filter changes, and identify concerns.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of compressed-air systems and components, including air lines, hoses, filters, and related equipment.
- Monitors equipment readings and operating conditions, identifies unusual readings or changes, and communicates concerns to management.
- Responds to Do It Now (DIN) maintenance calls received through company communication systems and assists with building, grounds, and facility-related repairs.
- Communicate work status, equipment concerns, and completed repairs through company communication methods.
- Performs routine repairs and maintenance on doors, windows, opening mechanisms, sensors, fixtures, drawers, roll-up doors, and other facility components.
- Assists with maintenance and repair activities involving production equipment as needed.
- Performs MIG welding and fabricates or repairs small parts and components using mild steel.
- Perform job tasks from elevated areas as required to perform inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Uses a variety of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance equipment.
- Assists other maintenance personnel and departments with repairs, inspections, and facility projects as needed.
- Operates company vehicles, forklifts, manlifts, and other mobile equipment as needed to safely perform maintenance activities.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area and properly cares for tools, equipment, and company property.
- Coordinates and follows required hot work permit procedures when performing welding or other hot work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
- Safely operate assigned job-related machinery and equipment required for the performance of assigned tasks.Â
- Safely climb and use ladders.
- Operate aerial lifts, including but not limited to manlifts, scissor lifts, etc.
- Work in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
- Drive and operate vehicles.
- Keep assigned areas of responsibility clean and well organized. Â
- Demonstrate good judgment when performing written or oral instructions.Â
- Complete required documents accurately and in a timely manner. Â
- Basic high school reading and writing preferred bilingual English and Spanish.Â
- Communicate issues or concerns to supervisor in a timely manner. Â
- Entry-level computer skills are required.Â
- Attend safety meetings and other departmental or company-related meetings as assigned.Â
- Utilize proper company-provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and tools/equipment as required for the specific task(s) at hand. Only company-provided PPE, tools, and equipment may be used.Â
- Participate in all “Lock Out-Tag Out” (LOTO) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) events and trainings. Â
- Observe all “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMPs) as specified by the Company.Â
Pay Range: $21.65
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) recommended.
- Valid CA Driver's License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTÂ
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- This role requires regular in person interactions and time on plant floor for activities like daily FMDS meetings, customer interactions, WOW projects, etc.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and condensed work areas.
- The employee may be exposed to temperatures above 90 and below 40 degrees.
- The noise level in the surrounding work environment is usually loud.
- The dust levels in the work environment are usually high, and the employee may be exposed.
- The employee may spend 100% or more of their work hours on the plant floor.
