• Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the practice Â
• Greet, assess and interview patients Â
• Obtain past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, vital signs Â
• Review present medications, allergy, history, chief complaint, and brief interrogation of complaint Â
• Act as a liaison between doctor and patient Â
• Explain medication, side effects, treatments, diets, diseases and disease processes Â
• Update medication list and current problem list Â
• Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by medical staff Â
• Anticipate needs of patients, providers, other team members Â
• Monitoring of patient during examination, or procedure Â
• Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties Â
• Stocking of supplies as needed, and maintaining clean exam rooms  Â
• Respond to patient's concerns Â
• Maintains patient confidentiality Â
• Participate in training and skills development of new medical assistants Â
- Drug Screen and BAT (Breath Alcohol Testing)Â
Â
• Perform a variety of preliminary procedures, including phlebotomy, injections, throat cultures, nasal swabs and moreÂ
• Analyze samples with various point-of-care testing platformsÂ
• Prepare and package laboratory samples for transport to labÂ
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, check patients in and out for appointments utilizing our electronic internal practice management system. Â
• Confirm patient information at the time of check-in Â
• Complete / confirm insurance eligibilityÂ
• Answer front desk phone calls. Â
• Provide receptionist back-up / support while being able to explain financial requirements to the patient (s) or responsible parties and collect co-pays and past due balances as required. Â

• Ensure Worker's Compensation, MVA and Occupational Health paperwork is completed for visits. Â
• Maintain optimum customer service and patient confidentiality. Â
• Other duties as assigned.Â

Qualifications:Â Â
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred or Emergency Medical Technician LicenseÂ
• Externship/Internship within related healthcare practice preferred. Â
• Must have current or very recent experience phlebotomy skillÂ
Schedule and Location vary weekly, including rotating weekends and holidays. Required - 2 weekend shifts per month.  Â
Operation hours Monday - Friday 9a-7p (10-hour shift), Saturday - Sunday 9a-4p (7-hour shift)
