Electrical Engineering Co-Op

We’re seeking talented students to join Sonos’s Co-Op Program and explore what it means to blend creativity, technology, and sound. Our co-ops are an essential part of our team, bringing fresh ideas, learning from experts, and helping us push the boundaries of what’s possible. Come broaden your skills, share your input and pursue your passion with our 6 month co-op experience.

Work Period: Jan 2027 - June 2027

Location & Schedule: This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with a minimum 4 days per week onsite in ourBoston, MA  office. There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Participate in the development of groundbreaking world class audio products

Those students following anEmbedded Systems orComputer Engineeringcurriculum would participate in the following:

• Learn the end to end process by which Sonos designs high performance, Gigahertz SOC based, Embedded Systems
• Perform circuit analysis and simulation for high speed digital interconnect and low voltage power distribution.
• Test and validate new designs, debug and improve those designs as necessary
• Enhance the excellence of Sonos products through research and prototyping of new technologies

Those students following aPower orAnalog Electrical Engineering curriculum would participate in the following:

• Support the design and verification of high-performance power supplies and audio amplifiers.
• Analyze, simulate, prototype, and test analog and power circuits.
• Develop supporting circuits using ADCs, DACs, op amps, and signal-conditioning components.
• Interface analog and power hardware with microcontrollers and DSPs.
• Characterize efficiency, audio performance, thermal behavior, stability, and protection features.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Basic Qualifications

Highly motivated to learn, passionate about electronics, and a strong sense of ownership.

• Undergraduate or graduate student in Electrical Engineering taking or planning to take the following major courses inEmbedded Systems orComputer Engineering curriculum:
  • Circuit theory 
  • Digital Logic Design
  • Computer Systems Engineering
  • Computer Organization and Design
• Undergraduate or graduate student in Electrical Engineering taking or planning to take the following major courses in Power orAnalog Electrical Engineering curriculum:
  • Circuit Theory
  • Analog Electronics
  • Power Electronics
  • Control Systems

Preferred Qualifications

• For those following anEmbedded system orComputer Engineeringcurriculum:
  • Basic understanding of these Engineering Topics:
    • Linux OS navigation and network configuration
    • Embedded System Design (with a focus on Hardware)
    • Synchronous Digital Electronics Concepts.
    • Transmission line theory in high speed digital design

• For those following aPower orAnalog Electrical Engineeringcurriculum:
  • Experience with analog, power, or audio circuit design and testing.
  • Familiarity with switching power supplies, amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, and op amps.
  • Understanding of feedback, stability, filtering, noise, and distortion.
  • Experience using circuit simulation tools and common laboratory equipment.

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in a College or University with a preferred field of study in Electrical Engineering
• Available to participate in our full-time co-op program from January - June 2027
• Ability to work out of our Boston office a minimum 4 days per week
