Lead the strategy. Support the people. Own the results.

Branson Bank is looking for an IT Director who can guide technology strategy, strengthen cybersecurity, and lead daily IT operations while remaining ready to help an employee troubleshoot a problem.

This is a visible, onsite leadership role for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing others, and taking ownership from the first conversation through resolution. You will work closely with bank leadership, internal IT personnel, and technology partners to keep the bank’s systems secure, reliable, and aligned with its business goals.

Whether you are developing a technology roadmap, preparing for an audit, holding a vendor accountable, or providing support while a teammate is out, your contribution will directly support the people who keep the bank running.

What You Will Do

  • Lead technology strategy and operations. Develop practical technology roadmaps, guide infrastructure and system improvements, and help leadership make informed decisions about technology investments, budgets, and priorities.
  • Stay involved in daily support. Maintain the technical skills and willingness to troubleshoot issues, provide coverage, and help resolve problems at their source.
  • Strengthen cybersecurity and risk management. Oversee security practices, policies, vulnerability management, access controls, and incident preparedness. Serve as, or grow into serving as, the bank’s Information Security Officer.
  • Support banking compliance. Coordinate technology and security responsibilities related to regulatory examinations, audits, risk assessments, business continuity, and disaster recovery. Track findings through resolution.
  • Manage vendors with a trust-but-verify approach. Evaluate recommendations, monitor service quality, review contracts and risks, and ensure providers deliver on their commitments. Maintain internal accountability for outcomes.
  • Deliver technology projects. Lead initiatives from planning and scope development through implementation, employee adoption, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Champion responsible AI and automation. Guide the evaluation, governance, implementation, and ongoing oversight of tools that improve efficiency while protecting bank and customer information.
  • Develop the IT team. Set clear expectations, assign priorities, mentor employees, coordinate coverage, and support professional growth.
  • Communicate clearly. Translate technical issues, risks, and recommendations into practical information for employees, executive leadership, and the Board.
  • Contribute to the bank’s culture. Be approachable, treat others with respect, celebrate accomplishments, and step in wherever your help can make a difference.

What You Bring

  • Significant professional experience supporting IT environments, with a strong foundation in infrastructure, systems administration, networking, cybersecurity, and end-user support.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technology initiatives, projects, vendors, or employees.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and carry projects from planning through completion.
  • An understanding of information security, technology risk, and banking technology expectations, including FFIEC guidance, GLBA, vendor oversight, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • The ability to connect technology decisions to business needs, costs, risks, and results.
  • A collaborative leadership style and a willingness to personally assist with day-to-day needs.
  • The ability and willingness to work onsite and build regular working relationships with employees and leadership.

Experience That Will Help You Stand Out

  • Banking, credit union, or other financial institution technology experience.
  • Seven or more years of progressively responsible IT experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, business, or a related field.
  • Experience serving as an Information Security Officer or supporting a financial institution’s Information Security Program.
  • Experience with banking audits, regulatory examinations, IT risk assessments, and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with CSI NuPoint or similar banking technology and core service providers.
  • Experience developing strategic plans, technology budgets, roadmaps, and Board-level reporting.
  • Experience implementing or governing AI and automation.
  • Relevant technology, cybersecurity, banking, or project management certifications.

How You Lead Matters

Branson Bank is seeking someone who follows through, communicates openly, and remains calm when situations become challenging. You should enjoy mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and helping colleagues succeed.

An ownership mindset is essential. When something needs attention, you help move it toward resolution. You treat employees, customers, and partners with the same professionalism and respect you would expect in return, and you take time to recognize individual and team accomplishments.

Work Schedule and Expectations

This is a full-time, onsite position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to support bank operations.
