Senior DevOps Engineer

We are seeking aSenior DevOps Engineer to lead the end-to-end development of our data platform, drive the design of scalable cloud-native architectures, and mentor engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

We’re launching a Double Referral Bonus Campaign for this role in EPAM Romania open positions, covering candidates referred and hired between September 7th, 2026 and December 31st, 2026. The campaign applies to A3+ roles, for both B2B and permanent positions, across all skills and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop our data platform built on Databricks & Kubernetes from end to end
• Integrate new data sources such as test automation results, deployments, and vulnerabilities
• Utilize data sources to build accurate and reliable metrics through automated processes
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a scalable data platform architecture on Azure
• Participate in the larger enablement community and help improve processes every day
• Apply an "open-source and build yourself" mentality within a corporate environment through innersourcing
• Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines, robust scrapers, automation scripts, and Infrastructure as Code templates to streamline deployment processes
• Optimize performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of data pipelines and analytics workloads
• Coach and mentor engineers to foster technical excellence, code quality, and knowledge sharing
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and software development, preferably in large-scale or complex environments
• Understanding of modern data architectures and the ability to design scalable, maintainable, and future-proof solutions aligned with business goals
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, including designing and deploying cloud-native data solutions
• Proficiency in DBT, Python, and Terraform
• Proficiency in GitHub Actions, Databricks, and Go
• Skills in SQL and the ability to select and advocate for the right tools for the job
• Expertise in optimizing performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of data pipelines and analytics workloads
• Experience architecting CI/CD pipelines, robust scrapers, automation scripts, and Infrastructure as Code templates
• Passion for navigating and thriving in complex, ambiguous environments with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Strong architectural vision and the ability to contribute to the technical roadmap
• Proven track record of coaching and mentoring engineers
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for varied audiences
