We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, as our new Assistant Recreation Manager. As the Recreation Assistant Manager at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, you will be responsible for our Pool, Fitness Area, Boathouse, Kids Camp, Resort’s activities and recreation group’s activities. You will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and recreation activities that are hallmarks of the Jasper Park Lodge.  Â
What you will be doing:   Â
Reporting to the Recreation Manager, you and your team will be responsible for promoting and facilitating the various activities that will enhance our guest's overall experience at our resort.Â
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging servicesÂ
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, safety and service standardsÂ
- Direct and lead the day-to-day Recreation operation ensuring all standards are followedÂ
- Ensure Health & Safety regulations are adhered to in all Recreation areasÂ
- Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of the Pool, Boathouse, and Health club thermal area, by completing daily inspections of the facilitiesÂ
- Develop and implement programs to enhance departmental revenueÂ
- Design entertainment programs and activities for children and adults during all official holidaysÂ
- Ensure a high level of guest service is maintained, through follow up on guests’ issues, comments, and platformÂ
- Effectively schedule all Recreation colleaguesÂ
- Ensure Recreation equipment inventory is well maintainedÂ
- Manage cash float and point of sales systemÂ
- Ensure correct chemical balance of pool and accurate water test readings are maintained as per Provincial regulationsÂ
- Effectively recruit for department and complete performance managementÂ
- Design and implement all controls for rentals, classes, programs, etc.Â
- Create and initiate yearly marketing planÂ
- Follow all safety and sanitation policiesÂ

- Other duties as assignedÂ
Your experience and skills include: Â
- Previous experience working with childrenÂ
- First Aid and CPR certification is required Â
- Proven record in program design and /or program facilitationÂ
- Computer literacy with strong knowledge of MS Word and ExcelÂ
- Degree in recreation or related degree preferredÂ
- Knowledge of Chemicals/pool operations is an assetÂ
- Previous experience with a point of sales system preferred but not mandatoryÂ
- Must have a strong interest in health, well-being and physical activityÂ
- Committed to ongoing development and training of all colleaguesÂ
- Must be a proven motivator and able to build and support strong work teamsÂ
