Heavy Maintenance Material Coordinator

POSITION PURPOSE

Ensures all materials are on hand and available for maintenance while the aircraft is in for maintenance.  Purchases and expedites and materials needed to complete the aircraft servicing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Reviews all material requested, creates stock transfers and purchase orders.  Ensures required parts are available on-site when and where they are needed using strategic purchasing methods. Performs strategic sourcing of parts. Reviews, researches and responds to emails from vendors. Pulls AIPC for reference of all new parts that have been requested by maintenance. Examines and reports on trends for various parts as needed. May monitor the prompt shipment of removed cores to the applicable vendors for return of serviceable units for the next schedule maintenance or back to materials inventory. May monitor shipment, condition and completeness of Heavy Check orders from initial starting point to final destination.  Alerts Materials of any discrepancies for prompt resolution with vendor. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  At least one year related supply chain, purchasing or materials experience.  Familiar with Microsoft office applications.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Education in aviation or supply chain preferred, with additional years of related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

DECISION MAKING

Makes limited decisions and determines best methods to solve problems by referring to established precedents and policies.  Impact of decisions is moderately low.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Able to focus with clear vision at 20 inches or less (computer screen).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Work in outdoor weather conditions within an open air hangar occasionally.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

            Travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight travel.
