Coffee Shop Associate (Part-Time) 

Location: Malden, MA (onsite) 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 11:30 AM 

Pay: $18.50 – $20.00 per hour 

About the Role 

Are you dependable, customer-focused, and happy working with people? As our Coffee Shop Associate, you’ll be the face of New England Coffee, running our front-of-house café and bringing our quality coffee experience to customers and employees every weekday morning. 

What You’ll Do 

• Assist with open \ close procedures, brew and serve coffee, stock food displays, take phone orders, and ring up sales accurately. 

• Give every guest friendly, efficient service. 

• Clean and check brewing and serving equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule, and report any issues to the service team promptly. 

• Track inventory and order supplies so the café stays fully stocked. 

• Work with fellow associates and the fulfillment supervisor to refresh the café’s offerings based on trends and new products. 

• Follow all safety, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including the emergency action plan, and report injuries or unsafe conditions right away. 

• Cross-train to help with back-of-house e-commerce fulfillment as needed, and take on other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Requirements: 

• Current MA Food Handler and Allergen certification, or the ability to complete the training. 

• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced team environment. 

• Basic computer skills. 

• Clear spoken and written English (Spanish is a plus). 

• Able to lift up to 30 lbs. and to stand, reach, climb, and bend during a shift. 

• Flexibility to adjust hours when business needs require. 

Nice to Have 

• Customer-facing experience in a coffee shop, bakery, restaurant, or retail setting. 

• Experience with cash handling, point-of-sale systems, and coffee preparation. 

• Strong organizational skills and a quality-focused mindset. 

• Recent culinary or hospitality trade school graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
