What We’re Looking For:Â
Role Objective:
As a Coach/Practitioner, your primary objective is to empower individuals to establish achievable, measurable goals while monitoring progress and fostering sustainable behavioral change. You will deliver platform-based behavioral health care and wellness coaching support to youth and young adults (ages 13-25).
How You’ll Make an Impact:Â
Providing Structured Wellness Coaching:Â
- Deliver prevention, wellness promotion and psychoeducation through structured coaching sessions.
- Assist with warm handoffs to Care Coordinators & support case management.
- Offer Behavioral Health/ Wellness Coaching interventions.
- Develop individualized care plans to effectively goal set and action plan for positive behavioral change.
- Conduct risk assessment and mitigation.
- Address determinants of positive mental health.
- Support users in identifying problem areas, obstacles, and actionable steps towards wellness goals.
Providing Single Session Wellness Coaching:Â
- Deliver drop-in and single-chat wellness coaching.
- Provide warm handoffs to Care Coordination Team and support with case management.
- Facilitate goal-setting based on immediate individual needs.
- Conduct risk assessment and mitigation.
- Deliver brief prevention, wellness promotion, and psychoeducation.
- Offer brief Behavioral Health/Wellness Coaching interventions.
- *This position is subject to a successful [enhanced] DBS check as part of recruitment procedures.
Screening and Assessment:Â
- Conduct mental health & wellness screenings and progress monitoring.
- Identify users experiencing or at risk of social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.Â
- Perform risk assessment and mitigation.Â
- Support users experiencing crisis and facilitate referrals as needed.
Moderation of Submitted Content:Â
- Moderate journals, goals, and user-submitted content in line with policy and compliance standards.Â
- Conduct risk assessment through written content.
- Encourage safe engagement relevant to presenting issues.
- Adhere to all safeguarding, data protection, legal, and internal policy requirements.
Warm Handoffs:Â
- Communicate with users and external providers as appropriate to ensure seamless care transitions.Â
Supervision, Training, and Meetings:Â
- Attend and actively participate in clinical supervision.
- Complete all mandatory in-house training and professional development.Â
- Attend team and performance management meetings.
Administration:Â
- Maintain accurate and timely records according to Kooth policies.
- Support operational processes to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Liaise with other professionals as needed around safeguarding and care concerns.
- Maintain certification or licensure (as applicable).
What You’ll Bring:Â
Pathway A: Peer Support Specialist
- Holds a current, valid Peer Support Specialist certification in the state of California or Nationally
- Minimum education: GED/High School diploma
- Competency or experience in peer support, strengths-based engagement, and providing emotional/behavioral support.
- Permanently reside within the 48 contiguous United States.
- Preferred: experience with crisis support services or related volunteer work.
Pathway B: Mental Health Support Practitioner
- Education or relevant experience that supports behavioral health/wellness coaching competencies.
- Demonstrates ability to deliver structured and single-session coaching.
- Permanently reside within the 48 contiguous United States.
- Experience in youth mental health, care coordination, or digital behavioral health environments preferred.
Pathway C: Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor
- Holds a current, valid SUD Counselor certification in the state of California.
- Minimum education: GED/High School diploma.
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with substance use–related behavioral change.
- Permanently reside within the 48 contiguous United States.
- Preferred: crisis support experience.
*Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
What You’ll Get:
Compensation: Starting pay for this role is$26 to $27 per hour. We’re committed to transparency and value our candidates time, which is why we share salary ranges in all states—regardless of local requirements. Final compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including your education, experience, skills, and overall alignment with the role.
