New York City · Full time · In person · Co-founder

Build the commercial function of a market simulation company. Own the path from a consequential business question to a paid enterprise engagement, then turn successful delivery into repeatable revenue.

Compensation and timing

3%–5% equity. No cash salary is currently available. We are actively fundraising. A future market-competitive salary depends on financing and a separately agreed package; funding and timing are not guaranteed. The equity percentage, grant structure, vesting, dilution, and working arrangement must be agreed before joining. This is a founder-level opportunity with material financial risk.

About Subconscious

Subconscious is building the intelligence to run the economy. We start with a simulator for business decisions, using causal experiments on simulated markets to test products, pricing, messaging, and go-to-market choices before capital is committed. Our long-term ambition is to help businesses discover unmet demand and build around what people actually need.

Your mandate

Own enterprise sales and strategic partnerships. Set account priorities, lead discovery, shape pilots, negotiate commercial terms, and build renewal and expansion plans. Establish partnerships with consultancies, agencies, research firms, data providers, and enterprise platforms where the economics and customer value are clear.

You will do the early selling yourself, work directly with the founding team, and shape the commercial organization as resources become available.

Early priorities

  • Define the initial customer profile and priority decisions we can credibly help customers make. Map buyers, budgets, evidence requirements, and procurement steps.

  • Build a qualified pipeline with documented next steps, accountable owners, and a forecast grounded in customer evidence.

  • Develop a pilot proposal that makes scope, success criteria, price, and the next purchase decision explicit.

  • Establish a small set of partner opportunities with clear account ownership, delivery responsibilities, and economics.

  • Build a feedback loop with product and deployment so that commitments match delivery capacity.

What success looks like

Customers understand why they should buy, pilots have a credible route to production, and signed revenue can be delivered and expanded. Pipeline quality, conversion, contract value, cycle time, collections, and partner contribution become visible. Specific targets will be agreed against our starting pipeline and available resources.

Experience that matters

  • You have personally originated and closed six-figure enterprise deals and carried a revenue target.

  • You have built pipeline and sold a technical, AI, analytics, data, or research product into complex organizations.

  • You can demonstrate revenue created through partners, beyond introductions and signed partnership announcements.

  • You can work with executives, technical buyers, procurement, legal, and security while keeping a deal moving.

  • You can explain a lost deal, a difficult tradeoff, and how you changed your approach.

The working reality

This role is based in New York City and works in person. You will build the process and do the work before hiring a team. Priorities will change as customer evidence develops. The current role does not include visa sponsorship.

Start the conversation

Share a non-confidential example of a deal or partnership you owned: the customer decision, your contribution, the commercial result, and what you learned. Come ready to discuss the product, funding status, ownership terms, and whether founder-level risk fits your circumstances.
