CNC Machine Operator

Put your machining experience to work in a hands-on manufacturing role where precision, quality, and teamwork matter. Orthman Conveying Systems (OCS) is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes while producing components to engineering specifications.

What You'll Do

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC mills and lathes
• Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders
• Select tooling and adjust machine controls and offsets
• Maintain required dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
• Complete production documentation and report deviations or nonconforming parts
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean
• Communicate production status and equipment issues to supervisors, engineers, and team members
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of CNC machining experience operating both mills and lathes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Knowledge of G-code, tooling, speeds, and feeds
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and contribute as part of a team
• Vocational or technical training is preferred

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position works in a manufacturing environment with loud noise and non-climate-controlled conditions. Candidates must be able to:

• Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots
