Role: Cloud Native Engineer Kubernetes Helm Istio
Location: McLean, VA (Onsite)
Engagement Contract

Role Context
This role supports a large scale cloud migration and modernization initiative within a highly regulated financial services environment. The consultant will be embedded with platform and infrastructure teams to operate and scale Kubernetes platforms and support service mesh adoption.
This is a hands on engineering role. Candidates must have real production experience not just certifications or theoretical knowledge.

Must Have Skills Non Negotiable
Kubernetes production experience operating and troubleshooting clusters
Helm chart creation and management for application deployments
Istio experience including traffic management security and observability
Bash scripting for automation and operational tasks
Python scripting for tooling automation or platform support
Experience supporting cloud migration or platform modernization initiatives

Strongly Preferred
Experience in regulated environments financial healthcare government
GitOps exposure ArgoCD Flux
CI CD pipelines GitHub Actions Jenkins GitLab CI
Cloud exposure AWS Azure or GCP
Strong troubleshooting across networking containers and service mesh
