Cloud Infrastructure & Backup Engineer – Windows/Rubrik

About The Job:

• We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure & Backup Engineer with strong expertise in Windows Server administration, enterprise backup solutions, and cloud infrastructure management.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions usingRubrik, while supporting Windows-based infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
• This role requires hands-on experience with backup operations, cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, system administration, and operational support to ensure high availability, security, and business continuity.

Essential Job Functions:
Infrastructure Management

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and related infrastructure services.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity planning.
• Perform server patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Support hybrid cloud environments across Azure and/or AWS.

Backup & Recovery Administration

• Manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions using Rubrik.
• Configure and maintain backup policies, SLA domains, retention policies, and archival settings.
• Perform backup monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
• Execute and validate backup restore drills and disaster recovery testing.
• Implement ransomware recovery measures and cyber recovery best practices.
• Ensure successful backup of physical, virtual, and cloud workloads.

Cloud Operations

• Support Windows workloads hosted in Azure and/or AWS.
• Manage cloud storage, compute, and networking resources.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for cloud-native environments.
• Optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, and costs.

Virtualization & Storage

• Administer VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V environments.
• Manage storage systems, SAN/NAS platforms, and backup repositories.
• Support VM provisioning, migrations, and disaster recovery operations.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure infrastructure and backup environments comply with security standards and organizational policies.
• Implement RBAC, MFA, and data protection controls.
• Maintain audit documentation and support compliance reviews.
• Participate in vulnerability remediation and security hardening activities.

Automation & Reporting

• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate infrastructure and backup administration tasks.
• Create operational dashboards and reports for backup success rates, capacity utilization, and SLA compliance.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, SOPs, and recovery procedures.

Experience

• 5-10 Years
• Exp – 10 to 12 years

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong experience administering Windows Server environments.
• Hands-on experience with Rubrik Backup and Recovery platform.
• Good understanding of backup concepts including:
  • Snapshot Management
  • Replication
  • Archival
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Cyber Recovery
• Experience with VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy administration.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Understanding of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, Object Storage).
• Familiarity with monitoring and ticketing tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, or AWS Backup.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM Templates, CloudFormation).
• Exposure to Kubernetes and container backup solutions.
• Understanding of cybersecurity and ransomware protection strategies.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale environments.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
