Role Summary

• Senior Cloud FinOps SME responsible for cloud financial management, cost optimization, governance, forecasting, cost allocation, and executive reporting.

• Focus on Microsoft Azure-led multi-cloud environments.

• Requires deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and hands-on experience with Apptio Cloudability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Azure and GCP cloud cost analysis, optimization, budgeting, forecasting, variance management, and financial governance.

• Manage Azure Reservations, Savings Plans, Azure Hybrid Benefit, budgets, cost analysis, exports, and Azure Advisor recommendations.

• Support GCP billing analysis, budgets, committed use discounts, labels, resource utilization, and cost optimization.

• Develop showback/chargeback models, tagging standards, cost allocation rules, unit-cost metrics, dashboards, and executive reports.

• Identify idle, orphaned, oversized, and underutilized cloud resources.

• Quantify potential savings and track remediation through actual savings realization.

• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, operations, finance, procurement, and business teams to improve cloud cost accountability.

• Develop cost models, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI), and scenario analyses.

• Support cloud migration, modernization, and architecture decision-making through financial analysis.

Required Technical Skills

• 10+ years of overall IT experience, including 7+ years in Cloud FinOps, cloud economics, or cloud financial management.

• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure Cost Management and Billing.

• Experience with Azure Cost Analysis, budgets, exports, Reservations, Savings Plans, Azure Hybrid Benefit, and Azure Advisor.

• Hands-on expertise with Apptio Cloudability, including:

  • Cost allocation and reporting.

  • Cloud cost optimization insights.

  • Budgeting and forecasting.

  • Dashboard development.

  • Business-unit cost views.

• Working knowledge of GCP Cloud Billing, budgets, committed use discounts, labels, reporting, and resource optimization.

• Strong understanding of the FinOps Framework and cloud financial management.

• Experience with showback/chargeback, unit economics, rate optimization, governance, and anomaly management.

• Advanced analytical and reporting skills using Power BI, Excel, SQL, APIs, or equivalent tools.

• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

• Ability to translate technical and financial data into actionable business recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

• FinOps Certified Practitioner, FinOps Professional, or equivalent certification.

• Microsoft Azure Administrator certification.

• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification.

• GCP certification is an advantage.

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud migration programs.

• Experience with cloud modernization and multi-cloud governance initiatives.
