About the Role

We are looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer to use artificial intelligence and the Microsoft platform to take manual, repetitive work out of our technology operations. The core of this role is building agents that actually hold up in production — grounded in trusted data, scoped correctly, and trusted by the teams that use them — and then automating the work behind them.

This is a hands-on build role: you will design the agents, write the automation, ship it, and own it. Because your work will run against identity, endpoint, and compliance systems in a regulated environment, you will also build it to hold up high security standards.

What You'll Do

Build AI agents that people rely on
  • Design, build, and maintain Microsoft Copilot Studio agents that give technology teams self-service access to operational knowledge and reduce dependency on individual subject matter experts.
  • Ground agents in trusted, approved sources and curate those knowledge sources so answers stay accurate as the environment changes.
  • Configure topics, connectors, authentication, and actions so agents can retrieve real data and take safe, scoped actions rather than just answer questions.
  • Test and evaluate agent responses for accuracy, monitor usage and failure patterns, and improve answer quality over time.
  • Design responsibly: correct data sourcing, least-privilege access, no exposure of protected health information or claimant data, and clearly stated limitations for users.
  • Apply other Microsoft AI capabilities where they fit, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure OpenAI, and AI Builder.

Automate the work behind the agents
  • Automate recurring technology operations work: account and device lifecycle tasks, access reviews, provisioning steps, operational reporting, and compliance evidence collection.
  • Develop PowerShell scripts and modules and operationalize them as scheduled, auditable jobs rather than tools that live on one engineer's workstation.
  • Build Azure Automation runbooks and Azure Functions, using managed identities and Azure Key Vault instead of stored credentials.
  • Integrate systems through Microsoft Graph and REST APIs, including app registrations, permission scopes, pagination, and throttling.
  • Use Power Automate and Logic Apps where a flow is the right tool, with real error handling and failure alerting so nothing fails silently.
  • Build Power Apps and supporting data models in Dataverse or SharePoint when a front end is needed for intake, tracking, or approvals.

Own what you build
  • Document data flows, permissions, service accounts, and dependencies to a standard an auditor can follow, and apply least-privilege practices throughout.
  • Instrument your work with logging, run history, and alerting, and make it maintainable by someone other than you.
  • Support SOX, HIPAA, and SOC 2 evidence requests related to the agents and automations you own.
  • Gather requirements directly from engineers and managers, iterate quickly, and retire tooling that is no longer earning its maintenance cost.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of professional IT experience in engineering, systems administration, or automation.
  • Hands-on experience building something real with an AI or agent platform, Microsoft Copilot Studio preferred. You can walk us through what you built, what broke, and how you fixed it.
  • Practical PowerShell scripting experience, including functions, error handling, and credential handling.
  • Experience automating administration of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, or Microsoft Intune.
  • Experience integrating systems through Microsoft Graph or other REST APIs, including app registrations, permission scopes, and rate-limited APIs.
  • Production experience with Power Automate, including connectors, error handling, and approval patterns.
  • Judgment about where AI is and is not the right answer, and the honesty to say so.
  • Clear documentation habits, attention to detail, and the ability to explain to a nontechnical stakeholder what an agent or automation does and does not do.

Preferred Qualifications - experience with any of the following is helpful, but candidates are not expected to know all of them:
  • Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, retrieval-augmented generation, or prompt evaluation and testing.
  • Azure Automation, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Power Apps, Dataverse, or Power Platform administration and application lifecycle management.
  • ServiceNow Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, Table API, or CMDB integration.
  • Microsoft Intune, Defender for Endpoint, or Microsoft Sentinel, including KQL, Python, or SQL.
  • Experience in an environment subject to SOX, HIPAA, SOC 2, or PCI requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
