PeopleCertis looking for aCloud Data Architect to join the relevant team and support data driven decision making of the organization by developing the appropriate corporate data warehouse/s, corporate data lake/s, cubes for self-service reporting, and advanced analytics & AI deliverables.

As a Cloud Data Architect, your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, build and evolve scalableEnterprise Data Warehouse, Data Lake and Lakehouse architectures on Microsoft Azure, aligned with enterprise architecture principles, security requirements and cloud best practices.
  • Architect data solutions usingMicrosoft Fabric and Azure Databricks as core components of the enterprise data platform, selecting and integrating capabilities according to workload and architectural requirements.
  • Design modern data ingestion and orchestration patterns usingMicrosoft Fabric Data Factory and Azure Data Factory, supporting batch and incremental ELT/ETL workloads across heterogeneous enterprise systems.
  • Design and implementMedallion Architecture patterns (Bronze, Silver and Gold) using Delta Lake/Lakehouse technologies to provide scalable, governed and reusable enterprise data products.
  • Integrate diverse data sources, includingCRM, ERP, digital platforms, operational applications, APIs, multimedia sources and custom enterprise systems.
  • Design scalable analytical and semantic architectures usingMicrosoft Fabric, Power BI and Databricks, supporting both centrally governed enterprise reporting and self-service analytics.
  • Applydata democratization and self-service analytics principles, ensuring secure, scalable and governed access to trusted enterprise data.
  • Lead and supportMaster Data Management (MDM) initiatives, establishing consistent and governed master entities and golden records across enterprise systems.
  • Work closely withData Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, Data Science and AI teams to translate business and technical requirements into robust end-to-end data architectures.
  • Establish architecture standards fordata modelling, integration, data quality, metadata, lineage, security and lifecycle management.
  • Design architectures that supportAI and Machine Learning workloads, enabling governed access to enterprise data for advanced analytics, ML and AI applications.
  • Monitor and optimize data platform architecture and workloads, balancingperformance, scalability, reliability and cloud cost efficiency.
  • Define and promoteCI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code and DataOps practices for enterprise data solutions.
  • Stay current with developments acrossMicrosoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and the broader Azure data ecosystem, recommending architectural improvements and new capabilities where they provide measurable business value.
  • Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance and mentorship to Data & Analytics teams on modern cloud data architecture and engineering practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-datearchitecture documentation, standards, design patterns and technical decision records.

What we look for:

  • Proven experience as aCloud Data Architect, Data Architect, Senior Data Engineer or equivalent, designing and delivering modern cloud data platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with theMicrosoft Azure data ecosystem, particularly:
  • Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Factory, OneLake, Warehouses and Power BI.
  • Azure Databricks, including Delta Lake, Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture patterns.
  • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
  • Azure Data Factory / Fabric Data Factory.
  • Strong understanding ofmodern Enterprise Data Warehouse and Lakehouse architectures, dimensional modelling and enterprise data modelling principles.
  • Hands-on experience designingETL/ELT pipelines, incremental data ingestion and integration patterns across complex enterprise environments.
  • StrongSQL/T-SQL skills and experience working with large-scale analytical datasets.
  • Experience withPython, PySpark, Spark and Databricks notebooks is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge ofPower BI, semantic modelling and DAX, particularly within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
  • Experience withdata governance, metadata management, data lineage and Master Data Management concepts and technologies.
  • Understanding ofcloud security, access control, networking, performance optimisation and FinOps principles within enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience withAzure DevOps, Git and CI/CD practices for data engineering and analytics solutions.
  • Relevant Microsoft and/or Databricks certifications are highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree inComputer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or another relevant discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical architectures.
  • Strong commitment to quality, delivery and collaborative teamwork across business and technology functions.
  • Excellent command of English; additional languages are considered an advantage.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • Financial background check
  • Employment reference check.
  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
