About Life Change Outpatient

Life Change Outpatient, LLC (LCO) is a faith-based intensive outpatient program (ASAM Level 2.1) in Oklahoma City serving adults who are seeking freedom from drug and alcohol addiction. Our mission is to help people move from addiction into lasting life change. We exist to help people discover more than just being sober; we exist to help people find a new way to live.

LCO combines evidence-based clinical care with a compassionate, supportive community. Position Summary

The Clinical Director is a steward of both clinical excellence and spiritual impact at Life Change Outpatient. This leader is responsible for the clinical integrity of the Intensive Outpatient Program, including the quality of assessment, treatment planning, therapy, documentation, and clinical supervision.

The Clinical Director leads and develops the clinical team, provides clinical guidance to Recovery Support staff, and ensures every client receives care that is professionally sound, individualized, and rooted in hope. This role partners closely with the Program Director and executive leadership to strengthen and grow the program while maintaining full compliance with ODMHSAS certification standards.

Key Responsibilities

The following are the primary duties and responsibilities of this position. This list is not exhaustive and may be adjusted to support organizational needs.

Primary Duties

Clinical Leadership and Supervision

  • Provide leadership and direction for all clinical services within the program
  • Provide clinical supervision to therapists and licensure candidates in accordance with Oklahoma licensing board requirements
  • Provide clinical guidance to Case Managers and Peer Recovery Support Specialists
  • Lead case staffing and clinical team meetings
  • Recruit, train, and develop clinical staff in partnership with People and Culture

Quality of Care

  • Ensure assessments, ASAM level of care placements, and treatment plans are clinically sound, individualized, and followed by the team
  • Oversee the use of evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, MI, and trauma-informed care
  • Review and approve discharge and aftercare planning
  • Oversee clinical response to crisis situations, critical incidents, and referrals to higher levels of care

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure all clinical documentation meets ODMHSAS (OAC Title 450), payer, ethical, and organizational standards
  • Conduct or oversee regular clinical chart audits and quality assurance reviews
  • Support utilization review and insurance authorization processes
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, 42 C.F.R. Part 2, and any applicable accreditation standards

Program Development

  • Work closely with the Program Director and executive leadership to strengthen and grow the program
  • Develop and refine clinical curriculum, group programming, and clinical policies and procedures
  • Track and report clinical outcomes to support program improvement

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational goals and mission

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree or higher in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a related behavioral health field
  • Five or more years of behavioral health experience, including:
    • Direct experience treating substance use disorders
    • Experience treating co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Two to three or more years in a leadership or supervisory role, including supervising clinicians and program development or oversight
  • Active, unrestricted Oklahoma licensure in good standing with the state licensing board, such as:
    • LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
    • LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
    • LMFT (Licensed Marital and Family Therapist)
    • Licensed Psychologist (PhD or PsyD)

Preferred

  • Board-approved supervisor status (for example, LPC-S) to supervise licensure candidates
  • LADC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor) or co-occurring disorder certification, or strong documented experience in dual diagnosis treatment
  • Experience in IOP, PHP, or residential treatment settings
  • Experience building or scaling a treatment program
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, insurance billing, and utilization review workflows
  • Experience with ODMHSAS certification site visits or CARF or Joint Commission accreditation

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a professional outpatient clinical setting with frequent interaction with clients experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders
  • Regular business hours, with occasional evenings or extended hours to meet program and client needs
  • Fast-paced environment requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities and client care concerns at the same time
  • Frequent use of computers, the electronic medical record (EMR), and standard office equipment
  • Regular exposure to protected health information requiring strict adherence to HIPAA and 42 C.F.R. Part 2
  • Must maintain appropriate professional boundaries and emotional resilience when working with high-risk populations
  • On-call availability may be required for clinical or operational support

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while facilitating services, completing documentation, or performing administrative tasks
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility as needed
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating office equipment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, in groups, and over the phone
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 20 pounds (for example, files and office supplies)
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read electronic records, documents, and computer screens
  • Ability to respond quickly in urgent or crisis situations, including de-escalation and coordination of care
