Climate & Sustainability Analyst (Intermediate)

About the Role

This role sits inside the Strategy and Disclosure function of a major energy infrastructure organization and supports two distinct workstreams: scenario modeling for methane intensity reduction and third-party climate performance disclosure validation. The analyst builds and maintains Power BI dashboards, translates emissions data into presentation-ready materials for internal working groups, and reviews Scope 1 and Scope 2 line items against publicly disclosed decarbonization commitments. It is a hands-on analytical role with real visibility, touching materials that ultimately reach executive leadership, the Board, and investors.

The ideal candidate brings four or more years of direct experience working with sustainability or climate datasets, including demonstrated Power BI dashboard work, and knows how to make complex emissions data legible to non-technical stakeholders. A background in Big Four advisory, finance, accounting, or engineering paired with sustainability work is equally welcome alongside a dedicated sustainability career path. What matters most is a clear track record in the work itself.

Key Responsibilities

1. Model emissions reduction projects against business unit data, including cost and commercial tradeoffs, and build that modeling into trajectory scenarios tied to the corporate methane intensity target
2. Build and maintain the Power BI dashboard tracking performance against the target, incorporating sensitivity analysis
3. Develop analytical materials and slide decks for internal working groups and committees, and support preparation of materials that reach executive leadership, the Board, and investors
4. Review third-party climate performance assessment data, validate Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions line items, and confirm that external characterizations of the decarbonization plan align with what has been publicly stated
5. Research and maintain peer datasets covering methane intensity, GHG intensity, climate targets, and disclosure practices
6. Track regulatory and disclosure framework developments relevant to the target trajectory
7. Collaborate daily with the Data Governance team on emissions forecasting methodology

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of data analysis and visualization experience applied to sustainability or climate datasets, specifically Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions reporting; demonstrated job history matters more than formal education
• Direct, hands-on experience building and maintaining Power BI dashboards
• Demonstrated ability to translate data analysis into clear, presentation-ready material for internal stakeholders
• Native or bilingual English proficiency
• Eligible to work in Canada without employer sponsorship

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience at a Big Four advisory firm (KPMG, EY, Deloitte, or similar) in a sustainability or ESG advisory capacity
• Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks such as ISSB
• A background in finance, accounting, or engineering layered with sustainability or climate work
