Location: Fresno, Oakland and Sacramento
Type: Contract to Hire

We are hiring an experienced Civil Project Engineer to support substation infrastructure projects involving civil and structural engineering design, construction support, project execution, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will lead engineering activities for complex utility projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, review technical designs, support contractors/vendors, and ensure timely delivery of projects.

Responsibilities
Lead civil/structural engineering for substation projects
Site walkdowns and scope definition
Prepare cost estimates, schedules, forecasts
Review drawings, designs, technical documents
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors
Provide construction support and resolve field issues
Perform engineering studies and structural analysis
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
Approve design revisions and project documents
Support restoration planning and root cause analysis
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
PE License (Civil / Structural preferred)
3+ years' experience in civil/structural engineering
Experience in utility / substation / infrastructure projects
Preferred
Master's Degree
Power utility experience
California project exposure
Structural software experience
