Job Description

This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of Boots as Chief of Staff to the CEO and help shape the future of one of the UK's most recognised and loved brands.

As Chief of Staff, you'll be the CEO's trusted adviser and strategic partner, anticipating what they need, ensuring they are exceptionally well prepared and helping turn ambition into action. You'll help focus the CEO's time and attention on the areas of greatest impact, while connecting people, ideas and plans across the business, bringing clarity to complexity and helping the Executive team operate with alignment, pace and purpose.

Combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, you'll play a key role in shaping Executive discussions, leading business-critical initiatives and ensuring decisions translate into meaningful outcomes for our colleagues, customers and communities. You'll provide challenge, insight and perspective while helping the CEO stay focused on where they can make the greatest impact.

What you'll be doing
•    Managing the flow of information to and from the CEO, ensuring they receive concise, actionable insight and that decisions are communicated clearly across the organisation.
•    Working in close partnership with the CEO's Executive Assistant to maintain alignment across priorities, meetings, communications and stakeholder activity.
•    Owning and orchestrating the Executive agenda, ensuring leadership meetings are focused, impactful and decision led.
•    Building trusted relationships with Executive team members and supporting the development of high-quality discussions, recommendations and decisions.
•    Connecting priorities, dependencies and accountabilities across functions, identifying risks and blockages early and driving joined-up action and follow-through.
•    Supporting strategic planning, business performance reviews and critical priority discussions.
•    Providing thoughtful challenge and advice on organisational dynamics, stakeholder management, sequencing and execution.
•    Creating and refining high-quality content for Board, Executive, leadership and company- wide audiences.
•    Maintaining a strong connection to colleagues, customers and frontline operations, ensuring insight from stores, pharmacies and support functions shape and inform the agenda and business decision-making.

What you’ll need to have
We're looking for an exceptional leader who combines strategic insight with outstanding operational execution.

You’ll bring:
•    Significant experience operating within complex, fast-paced organisations, ideally across strategic, commercial and operational environments.
•    The credibility and organisational awareness to influence at Executive level and build strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
•    Outstanding judgement, integrity and discretion, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations with confidence.
•    Strong strategic thinking and the ability to quickly absorb complex information, identify what matters most and develop clear recommendations.
•    Commercial acumen and the ability to interpret business performance, identify risks and challenge constructively.
•    Exceptional communication skills, and a natural ability to connect people, priorities and ideas, bringing clarity and alignment where complexity exists.
•    Outstanding writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling content for Board, Executive, leadership and company-wide audiences.
•    Strong project leadership skills, with a track record of driving outcomes through influence rather than formal authority.
•    The confidence to provide thoughtful challenge and act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders.
•    Resilience, adaptability and the ability to thrive in a role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Where your brilliance can take you
In this highly visible role, you'll have a unique opportunity to influence strategic outcomes, build relationships with senior leaders across the organisation and gain unrivalled insight into how one of the UK's most iconic retailers operates. Your contributions will not only influence our internal culture but also enhance the experience of our customers and colleagues across the UK and Ireland.
