POSITION SUMMARY: The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for providing leadership and direction in overseeing strategic planning and operation of the organization, in support of organizational mission and goals. Provides leadership, direction and support to the Board of Directors in developing organizational goals, attaining/allocating and managing resources, and establishing policies. Provides leadership and direction to staff management and partnership development in carrying out the key roles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIESincludethefollowing:

Leadership

  • Ensure the effective operation and delivery of programs within the Club and community:
  • Support the organizations mission and principles.
  • Maintain an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes and uses outcome measures to demonstrate effectiveness.
  • Establish and monitor adherence to policies and procedures; and
  • Implement programs, services and activities that support youth development outcomes.

Strategic Planning

  • Implement a strategic planning process that results in the development and implementation of a quality strategic plan.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement and implement plans to improve using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and data analytics.

Resource Development

  • Ensure the annual budget is funded and organization has adequate cash flow.
  • Develop strategic plans to generate revenue through a variety of fundraising techniques.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit donors.
  • Oversee planning and implementation of special events.
  • Provide guidance to staff and volunteers performing resource development functions.

Resource Management

  • Develop, implement and monitor the Club’s annual budget.
  • Implement administrative and operational systems to support effective operations.
  • Ensure productive and effective staff performance, with focus on Club and child safety; provide guidance, feedback, and opportunities for professional development.

Technology

  • Develop and implement plans for updating existing technology and resources.
  • Acquire and/or allocate funds to implement and update existing technology and resources.
  • Ensure the maintenance of Club technology and information management systems.

Youth Program Operations

  • Shall be responsible for planning and coordinating cultural, recreational, and educational activities for the Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria’s youth, including the Teen Council.
  • Ensure program, services, and activities that prepare youth for success, promoting safety and quality of the program at all times.
  • Shall provide guidance and role modeling to members. Educate, promote, develop self-esteem, and provide positive alternatives.
  • Responsible for all youth tracking, including intake, database entry, filing, member photos, releases, and new member orientations.
  • Shall communicate necessary information to members, families, and the public about upcoming events, field trips, and activities.
  • Manage facilities and ensure a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order. Recommend requisitions as necessary, controlling expenditures against the supply budget.
  • Responsible for the Member Attendance Incentive Program and carrying out the policy.
  • Coordinates with appropriate departments when youth-related services are delivered.
  • Coordinate with the Higher Education and Job Readiness Program for transition-age youth.
  • Exemplify adult behavior as a role model to youth and provide planned opportunities for them to enhance their sense of personal and cultural identity.
  • Adhere to all client confidentiality requirements and standards.
  • Shall follow mandated reporting requirements.

Partnership Development

  • Develop strategic alliances with community leaders and local club officials.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families, funders, and community organizations.

Marketing and Public Relations

  • Increase visibility of Club programs, services and activities and maintain public trust.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES:  This position will have supervisor authority.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability that are desired.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Education, and Social Services from an accredited college.

QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Thorough knowledge of: the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; the principles and practices of managing nonprofits; and resource development activities and sources of funding.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement effective operations.
  • Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving and decision making.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, community groups and other related agencies.
  • Basic knowledge of asset management including financial resources and property.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must have High School diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must have an Associate’s degree in: Business Administration, Education, Public Administration or related field.
  • OR; equivalent combination of education and experience (Equivalent = two (2) year’s direct experience to one (1) year of education).
  • Must have    4  /years ofrelated experience 
  • Must have    4  /years ofsupervisory experience 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES,REGISTRATIONS:

  • Shallpossess avaliddriver'slicense and be insurable by agencies insurance.
  • Must provide or obtain the Servsafe Food Handlers certification upon hire and maintain during employment.  
  • Must provide or obtain CPR & First Aide certification within three (3) months of hire.
  • Must have validJOB RELATEDCertification orLicense:Mandated Reporter Training Certification

COMPUTEROPERATIONS

  • Demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating systems) and intermediate software packages 9word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.)

LANGUAGESKILLS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICALSKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONINGABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
