Overview
Axalta is seeking a Chemical Mixer to support its 2nd shift manufacturing operations. This position works within production areas to mix, process, and package materials according to established batch instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures. The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to safely work with production equipment and raw materials.
Job Description
- Load pre-weighed raw materials into mixing bowls and mixers according to batch instructions
- Mix batches according to established specifications and procedures
- Maintain material feed to keep production equipment operating efficiently
- Monitor and adjust mixing, blending, extrusion, grinding, and packaging processes as directed
- Transfer raw materials within the computer system and maintain accurate inventory records
- Maintain accurate production logs, records, and reports
- Provide product samples to Quality Control and respond promptly to quality inquiries
- Inspect equipment for proper operating conditions and report maintenance needs
- Clean equipment between products to prevent cross-contamination
- Maintain clean and safe production areas and minimize material spills
- Empty dust collection and central vacuum systems as required
- Follow safe-handling procedures for raw materials, including aluminum
- Fill finished-goods containers accurately and wrap completed product skids
- Communicate production, equipment, and quality status with employees on incoming and outgoing shifts
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and production standards
- Assist maintenance personnel when directed by the Shift Leader
- Work overtime or alternate shifts when needed
- Manufacturing or production experience; 2 years preferred
- Ability to follow batch tickets, written instructions, and established production procedures
- Ability to safely operate and monitor manufacturing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain production and inventory records
- Ability to identify and promptly report equipment or product issues
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and shift leadership
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as needed
- High school diploma
