| Digital AgTech â€" Seeds Team, Pune **Location:** Pune, India  |  **Engagement:** Contractor (external) â€" Ext - Full Stack Developer **Products:** Cropwise Seed Selector web applications (sales-rep, grower and administrative surfaces) and their Node.js service layer # Job Description We are looking for a Software Engineer (contractor) to join our Digital AgTech Seeds team in Pune, building the React and TypeScript web applications behind Cropwise Seed Selector. You will ship production features end to end, from refined ticket through code review and test coverage to release. Our users are sales representatives, agronomy specialists and growers across Europe, Latin America and North America. This is a hands-on delivery role on an established, opinionated codebase rather than greenfield work: React 19 and TypeScript on Vite, Ant Design, Nx monorepos managed with pnpm, map-heavy interfaces on Mapbox GL, and serverless Node.js APIs on AWS. You should be comfortable working to an existing design system, test suite and quality gate, and productive in the codebase quickly. # Responsibilities ·      Build and ship production features in **React and TypeScript** across the Seed Selector web applications, taking tickets from refinement through code review to release. ·      Implement designs faithfully from Figma using the existing **Ant Design** component library and shared design-token packages, rather than introducing one-off styles. ·      Build **map-based and data-dense UI** — Mapbox GL layers and legends, geometry drawing and editing, Turf.js geospatial operations, and multi-series charting. ·      Integrate with and extend **Node.js serverless APIs** on AWS Lambda, including request validation, error handling, retries and sensible failure behaviour in the UI. ·      Write and maintain **unit tests (Jest / Vitest with React Testing Library) and Playwright E2E tests**, and keep coverage meaningful rather than nominal. ·      Keep **CircleCI green and the SonarCloud quality gate passing** before merge; treat a red pipeline as your problem to fix. ·      Externalise all copy through the **Phrase localisation workflow** with no hard-coded strings, and keep layouts tolerant of text expansion. ·      Ship behind **LaunchDarkly feature flags** to support progressive rollout, and make sure the flag-off path works. ·      Instrument features with **Amplitude and Datadog RUM**, and use that telemetry to diagnose production issues. ·      Work in Agile ceremonies, review teammates` code constructively, and raise small, well-scoped pull requests. # Skills ·      Bachelor`s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, with **3+ years** of professional experience building production web applications. ·      Strong **React** — hooks, component composition, state colocation and render performance — and strong **TypeScript** (generics, discriminated unions, typing third-party APIs). Both are core requirements, not nice-to-haves. ·      Experience with a **mature component library**; **Ant Design preferred** (v5 and v6 are both in use here), Material UI or Fluent acceptable. ·      **State and data fetching**: Redux Toolkit and/or TanStack React Query, plus form handling with react-hook-form or equivalent. ·      **Styling and theming**: CSS-in-JS (Emotion or styled-components), design tokens and theme overrides, and responsive layouts across desktop, tablet and mobile web. ·      **Modern build and tooling**: Vite, TypeScript project references, ESLint and Prettier. Experience with monorepos (**Nx**, pnpm workspaces) is a strong advantage. ·      **Testing discipline**: unit tests with Jest and/or Vitest plus React Testing Library, and E2E with Playwright. You understand that an assertion which cannot fail is worthless, however good the coverage number looks; exposure to mutation testing (Stryker) is a plus. ·      **Node.js** (v20+; we run v24) building or maintaining REST APIs, and **AWS serverless** (Lambda, API Gateway, S3) deployed with the Serverless Framework. Hono or Express and Zod validation are a plus. ·      **Git and CI/CD** with CircleCI or similar, and working to a static-analysis quality gate (SonarCloud): coverage thresholds, code smells and security hotspots. ·      **Map and geospatial front-end** work — Mapbox GL JS, GeoJSON and Turf.js — or clear evidence you can pick it up quickly. A large share of our UI is map-based. ·      **Data-dense interfaces**: tables, filtering, multi-step wizards, comparison views, and charting with ApexCharts, ECharts, Plotly or D3. ·      **Internationalisation** with i18next in a multi-language product, and **accessibility basics** (WCAG 2.1 AA, semantic HTML, keyboard operability, jsx-a11y lint rules). ·      Good communication in English, and the ability to work independently at pace in an **Agile/SCRUM** team with distributed colleagues. ·      **Good to have**: feature flags (LaunchDarkly), product analytics and real-user monitoring (Amplitude, Datadog), PostgreSQL and SQL, and exposure to agriculture, agronomy or geospatial software. |
