University Health is seeking afluent Spanish-English Medical Interpreter to join our Language Access Services team. In this vital role, you’ll help Spanish-speaking patients and families communicate clearly with doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff. Your interpretation will supportsafe, respectful, and culturally appropriate care.

Speak and understandSpanish and English fluently
Haveexperience interpreting in medical or community settings
Want tohelp your community understand their health care and treatment
Have completed or are willing to complete aprofessional medical interpreter training program

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum ofsix months’ experience in medical interpretation
Demonstratedfluency in English and target language, with a passing score of85% or higher on a validated language competency exam
Successful completion of a formalmedical interpreter training program (e.g., Bridging the Gap, JCCC, SBA, or equivalent)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
National certification through a recognized body (e.g., CCHI or NBCMI)
Experience interpreting inclinical environments with diverse patient populations
