University Health is seeking afluent Spanish-English Medical Interpreter to join our Language Access Services team. In this vital role, you’ll help Spanish-speaking patients and families communicate clearly with doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff. Your interpretation will supportsafe, respectful, and culturally appropriate care.

• Haveexperience interpreting in medical or community settings

• Have completed or are willing to complete aprofessional medical interpreter training program

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum ofsix months’ experience in medical interpretation

• Demonstratedfluency in English and target language, with a passing score of85% or higher on a validated language competency exam

• Successful completion of a formalmedical interpreter training program (e.g., Bridging the Gap, JCCC, SBA, or equivalent)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• National certification through a recognized body (e.g., CCHI or NBCMI)

• Experience interpreting inclinical environments with diverse patient populations
