LAUNDRY SUPERVISOR

OVERVIEW

The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Laundry Department, ensuring linens and event rental items are cleaned, processed, inspected, organized, and prepared on time according to company and event requirements. The position is responsible for supervising staff, maintaining quality and productivity standards, monitoring inventory, and ensuring a safe and organized working environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise daily washing, drying, ironing/pressing, folding, sorting, and preparation of linens.
• Schedule staff, assign daily duties, and monitor attendance, productivity, and quality of work.
• Ensure linens are prepared accurately and on time for upcoming events.
• Coordinate with Operations, Event Planners, Inventory, and other departments regarding event requirements.
• Maintain accurate linen and rental inventory and conduct regular inventory checks.
• Monitor damaged, stained, or missing items and complete the required reports.
• Train and coach employees on laundry procedures, quality standards, equipment use, chemical handling, and safety.
• Monitor labor utilization, daily production, and departmental performance.
• Ensure laundry equipment is properly used and report maintenance issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient Laundry Department.
• Ensure all company policies, health and safety procedures, and quality standards are followed.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The ideal candidate should be highly organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to effectively supervise and motivate a team. The candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, meet event deadlines, and maintain high standards of quality and productivity.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5 years of previous managerial/supervisory role experience in laundry, housekeeping, hospitality, events, or a similar operational environment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to train, coach, and supervise employees.
• Knowledge of laundry operations, quality control, inventory management, and safe chemical handling.
• Must have knowledge of operating commercial machines for the laundry operations.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel, are a must.
• Must have a valid Cayman Islands Driver’s License, Groups 2–3.
• Must have clean driving and police records.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to frequently lift items weighing up to70 lbs.
• Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Requires working over the weekends and public holidays.
• The work environment includes laundry, warehouse, and occasionally outdoor areas in hot and humid conditions.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, extended hours, and Public Holidays as operationally required.

SALARY RANGE

CI$36,000 – CI$44,400 per annum, plus benefits package, working 45 hours per week. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
