Job Description

This position is responsible for securing clinical experience placements for P-12 teacher candidates within public school districts so students can fulfill the requirements necessary for teacher licensure and graduation.  The College of Education Clinical Experience Placement Specialist will facilitate, manage and build relationships with students and public school districts.  This position involves collaborative planning, preparation and implementation of professional development training for students and student teacher supervisors/mentors.  Student background checks as well as verifying the liability insurance process has been completed are also responsibilities of this position.      

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related area. 
• Minimum of one year of professional experience working with P-12 schools or in higher education, leadership or outreach.
• Demonstrated ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work collaboratively across divisions and colleges with personnel at all levels. 

• Experience in strategic program planning and implementation, leading change management and process improvement methods. 
• Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualification 

• Master’s degree in education or related area. 
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge in coaching, mentoring, and assessment of teacher and/or teacher candidate performance. 
• Demonstrated experience with instructional/educational technology.
• Demonstrated ability for handling multiple projects simultaneously.
