Marketing Specialist, Strategic Operations & Delivery (14 Month Contract)Â Â
Why is this role important:Â
The Marketing Specialist, Strategic Operations & Delivery plays an important role in helping the Super Market Brand Marketing team plan, organize, deliver and communicate its key priorities across Loblaw’s conventional grocery business.Â
Reporting to a Sr. Manager Brand Marketing, this role supports key team deliverables including annual planning, campaign and initiative governance, weekly performance reporting, executive updates, and cross-functional project delivery. The Specialist helps ensure the right plans, timelines, stakeholders and reporting are in place to enable strong execution and informed decision-making across marketing initiatives.Â
This role is well suited to a marketing professional who is highly organized, collaborative and comfortable bringing structure to fast-moving work. The successful candidate will connect the dots across teams, keep priorities moving forward, and translate marketing activity and performance into clear, concise business narratives for senior stakeholders.Â
The Marketing Specialist, Strategic Operations & Delivery will work closely with Brand Marketing leadership and cross-functional partners across merchandising, operations, divisional strategy, media, agency, analytics and marketing enablement, supporting the Super Market portfolio of brands includingReal Canadian Superstore, Real Atlantic Superstore, Dominion, Loblaws, Zehrs, Your Independent Grocer and Provigo.Â
What you'll do:Â
- Strategic Planning & Team Priorities: Support annual planning and other key planning moments by coordinating timelines, inputs, stakeholder alignment and leadership materials. Help translate business and marketing priorities into clear plans, deliverables, milestones and next steps.Â
- Performance Reporting & Storytelling: Coordinate weekly, campaign and initiative performance reporting by bringing together inputs from marketing, media, analytics, merchandising and business teams. Analyze and synthesize information into concise narratives that highlight marketing effectiveness, business impact, key learnings and opportunities.Â
- Marketing Operations & Project Delivery: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, meeting cadences and key milestones for priority marketing initiatives. Proactively track progress, identify risks or gaps, and work with partners to keep deliverables moving forward with clarity and accountability.Â
- Campaign & Initiative Governance: Coordinate with Brand Marketing, media, agency, merchandising, operations, analytics and enablement partners to support the delivery of major Super Market campaigns and strategic initiatives. Ensure stakeholders are aligned, key milestones and dependencies are tracked, and decisions and updates are clearly communicated.Â
- Executive & Leadership Communications: Develop clear, polished presentations, recaps, briefing materials and business updates for Marketing leadership and other senior stakeholders. Translate complex information, data and cross-functional inputs into clear business stories with key implications and next steps.Â
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Build strong working relationships across a highly matrixed organization. Coordinate inputs and deliverables across multiple stakeholders, support alignment on priorities and timelines, and follow through on actions and decisions.Â
- Optimization, Innovation & Best Practices: Identify opportunities to improve planning, reporting, communication, governance and project delivery across the Super Market Brand Marketing team. Help establish and maintain tools, templates and ways of working that improve consistency and efficiency.Â
What you bring:Â
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in marketing, brand management, marketing operations, strategic planning, integrated campaign planning, project management or a related area.Â
- A strong understanding ofmarketing strategy, campaign planning and performance measurement, with the ability to connect marketing activity to broader business priorities.Â
- Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify key insights and synthesize multiple inputs into a concise performance or business narrative.Â
- Strong project management and planning capabilities, with experience managing multiple workstreams, stakeholders, timelines and deliverables.Â
- Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, polished PowerPoint presentations and updates for leadership audiences.Â
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.Â
- Experience working with cross-functional teams such as merchandising, operations, media, agency, analytics or strategy.Â
- Experience developing leadership presentations, performance updates, briefing materials or business review content.Â
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through and ownership, with the ability to anticipate needs and proactively identify risks or gaps.Â
- Strong business acumen and a customer-focused mindset.Â
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may evolve, with the ability to adapt while maintaining high-quality execution.Â
- A proactive, curious and solutions-oriented approach, with the confidence to ask questions, connect the dots and recommend improvements to existing ways of working.Â
- Retail, grocery, CPG, loyalty, or experience within a large matrixed organization is an asset.Â
