Theoris IT & Engineering is looking for a Veeva API Integration Consultant to support the oversight, governance, validation, and operational management of API integrations within a regulated Clinical Data Management Systems (CDMS) environment. This person will serve as a key liaison between business teams, system owners, technology organizations, vendors, and platform providers to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient use of APIs across Veeva Vault and related clinical systems.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of clinical systems, API integrations, GxP compliance, validation practices, and vendor-supported data exchange solutions. This role requires a balance of technical troubleshooting, compliance oversight, operational monitoring, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure reliable API performance and inspection readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily monitoring of API activity across Veeva Vault environments to ensure system health, performance, and adherence to platform usage limits.
  • Monitor API consumption trends, burst count utilization, and overall integration performance.
  • Identify and escalate potential issues impacting API availability, throughput, or service reliability.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of API-related incidents, service disruptions, and customer support tickets.
  • Assist in defining and executing the API strategy for Clinical Data Management Systems.
  • Support governance processes for API account creation, maintenance, access management, and scaling across the customer base.
  • Collaborate with technology and user management teams to ensure appropriate API account administration and lifecycle management.
  • Identify recurring integration issues and trends across vendors and customers to drive operational improvements and efficiencies.
  • Ensure API usage aligns with GxP, data integrity, and validation requirements.
  • Partner with validation, quality, and technology teams to ensure API accounts and integrations undergo appropriate validation testing and documentation.
  • Support inspection readiness activities related to production API accounts, particularly read/write integrations.
  • Maintain documentation supporting traceability, compliance, validation, and operational procedures.
  • Work closely with Veeva, technology teams, and external vendors to understand API functionality, integration architecture, and data exchange processes.
  • Review vendor implementations and API usage patterns to ensure compliance with established standards and best practices.
  • Participate in technical discussions regarding API development, integration approaches, and system impacts.
  • Review Veeva platform release impact assessments related to API functionality.
  • Execute or coordinate API-related testing associated with platform upgrades and releases.
  • Support customer communications and coordination activities for API changes requiring validation, testing, or re-certification.
  • Assist with change management activities and documentation updates related to API enhancements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting clinical systems, regulated applications, or enterprise technology platforms within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or healthcare environments.
  • Experience working with API integrations, system interfaces, and automated data exchange solutions.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Data Management Systems (CDMS), Veeva Vault, or related clinical technology platforms.
  • Understanding of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity, validation, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting validation activities, testing documentation, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing system integration and API-related issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and quality organizations.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments supporting regulated systems.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Veeva Vault APIs and clinical data integration platforms.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth, service accounts, and API authentication methods.
  • Experience using API monitoring and testing tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial systems, electronic data capture (EDC), CTMS, safety systems, or other clinical development platforms.
  • Familiarity with Computer System Validation (CSV), Computer Software Assurance (CSA), and risk-based validation methodologies.
  • Experience evaluating AI agents, automation frameworks, or machine learning-enabled integrations.
  • Exposure to cloud-based platforms and enterprise integration architectures.
  • Experience supporting vendor-managed integrations in regulated pharmaceutical environments.
