Substitute Teacher

Job Summary:

Substitute teachers perform the instructional and classroom management processes for Covenant teachers who are absent. They are required tobe a fully devoted Christian who will interact with students, staff, and facultythrough a Christian worldview and in full support of our mission, vision, and core values. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Implement and teach lesson plans and instructions as directed by the absent Covenant teacher
  
• Maintain a clean, respectful, and orderly classroom
• Follow classroom and school procedures
• Keep records on attendance, accidents and incidents
• Ensure the safety of students at all times
• Submit your Substitute Teacher Classroom Report at the end of the teaching day

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Must be detail oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
• The ability to remain patient and approachable while also monitoring an orderly classroom

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification required
• Bachelor's degree preferred 
  
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role is preferred

Physical Requirements: 

• Frequent walking/standing
  
• Ability to lift up to approximately 30 pounds may be required
