About the role:

The sonographer provides excellent medical services while maintaining professional standards of care with the primary goal of impacting decisions for life.  Under the general supervision of the Medical director and Medical Services Manager, the Sonographer is responsible for performing direct and indirect medical interventions, including the provision of limited ultrasounds.  The Sonographer facilitates caring relationships with clients and, as appropriate, the sonographer will support the counseling efforts, including spiritual discussions.  The Sonographer works in conjunction with physicians, nurses, and lay counselors to assure that clients are receiving the best medical and psychosocial care possible.


Key Responsibilities include:

    1.     Coordinates with Medical Services Manager to assist in assessing client needs using clinical and critical skills that reflect safe medical practices.

    2.     Conducts a concise medical history.

    3.     Performs limited ultrasounds while gathering and analyzing clinical data.

    4.     Maintains a warm, caring atmosphere for patients.

    5.     Maintains focus on the goal of impacting decisions for life.

    6.     Remains alert for opportunities to aid lay counselors as they engage in significant conversations with clients.

    7.     Provides education for clients to develop an understanding of their health condition.

    8.     Maintains accurate records in a timely manner.

    9.     Performs client follow-up per care plan and standardized procedures.

    10.   Assist with audits of all medical records on file, as requested by the Medical Services Manager.

    11.   Performs weekly inventory and reports shortages; distributes new medical supplies.

    12.  Adheres to budget for medical services while developing cost saving measures.

    13.  Is committed to cleaning and disinfection of all equipment used for medical purposes.

    14.  Travels between offices as needed to meet patient or staffing needs.

    15.  Communicates effectively with the Medical Services Manager.

     

    Staff Development

    1.     Assists with supervision and oversight of the medical team members as requested by the Medical Services Manager.

    2.     Participates in the recruiting of qualified medical team staff and volunteers to meet the needs of the center.

    3.     Assists in training of center medical team volunteers and staff.

    4.     Assists with communication among medical team for general and procedural updates and gives and welcomes feedback while contributing to building a positive team spirit.

    5.     Participates in providing in-service for the staff.

     

    Public Relations

    1.     Represents the center in the community as requested by supervisors.

    2.    Participates in the development of client marketing initiatives.


    Candidate requirements:

    • Holds current active credential as an RN or RDMS with good standing with the ARDMS or a licensed Registered Nurse by the state board of professional registration.
    • A committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and is a participant in a local church 
    • Expresses full agreement with Caring Network’s Mission Statement and Core Values.
    • Agrees with and is willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith, and Policies
    • Maintains consistent life-affirming philosophy and would never refer or advise a woman to have an abortion.
    • Has a sincere desire to reach abortion minded women.
    • Dependable, organized, flexible, teachable, team oriented, self-starter, and warmly personable.
    • Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to centers throughout DuPage county as needed.
    • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
