The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting tractor trailers loaded with food products between US Foods distribution centers and remote dispatch locations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely product movement while maintaining compliance with all DOT and company safety standards. Drivers perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, operate equipment in various weather conditions, and may occasionally assist with delivery or backhaul routes as business needs require. The ideal candidate holds a valid CDL Class A with doubles endorsement, has commercial driving experience, and is comfortable working overnight schedules.We help YOU make it! Main Ingredients of the Job!Â
As a US FOODS® Shuttle Truck Driver you will be operating a tractor-trailer (potentially doubles) between US FOODS® distribution centers and shuttle yards. Switching out loaded trailers with empty trailers, safely and efficiently. Your efforts are the foundation that defines US FOODS® success based on our pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service.Â

Schedule   Sunday – Friday 5:00 pm - until complete Â
Pay:Â Our Shuttle Truck Drivers earn $17.08 hour while training. Once trained our Shuttle Drivers earn: $315 Daily Minimum/Component Pay

Check Route Numbers and Account Numbers for All Assigned DeliveriesÂ
Check Customer Invoices of Product That Has Been LoadedÂ
Moving Tractor to The Loading Dock to Attach Pre-Loaded Trailer And/or Attach 2nd Trailer with The DollyÂ
Hook trailers carefully making sure all connections are correctÂ
Use Electronic Time Keeping System to Log in Time at Stop SiteÂ
Check for Returns and Paperwork on Trailers Shuttling Back to The Distribution CenterÂ
Performing Safety Checks on The Truck and TrailerÂ
Fuel (As Required by The Division); Unhooking and Secure Trailer; Parking and Securing Tractor and Hand TruckÂ

What you bring to the tableÂ
Must be at least 21 years of age. Â
Must have valid CDL A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualified. Â
Minimum six months commercial truck driving experience or three months of foodservice or food and beverage truck delivery experience required. Â
Double Endorsement License RequiredÂ

*Registering to the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a requirement by the Department of Transportation. All Truck Drivers must visit the Clearinghouse website and register to the new database. The Clearinghouse is a secure online database that provides real-time information about commercial driver’s license (CDL) and commercial learner’s permit (CLP) holders’ drug and alcohol program violations. If you have not registered to the FMCSA database, please note registration is required.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.Â
The training base rate is $17.08 per hour and after training will be paid component pay based on miles, cases, and stops as applicable.
This role may also receive incentive compensation as applicable. ​
