Our client, a well-established notarial firm, is seeking aNotary specializing in Personal Planning, Wills, Estates and Non-Contentious Proceedings to manage a diverse caseload and guide clients through important moments in their lives.

The successful candidate will act as theprimary point of contact for clients and assume full responsibility for their files, from the initial consultation through to the completion of the mandate.

YOUR ROLE:
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing personal planning matters from the initial client meeting through to the completion of the mandate;
  • Advising and assisting clients with marriages, marriage contracts and parental unions;
  • Managing estate settlements, advising liquidators and overseeing the various stages of the settlement process;
  • Advising clients on legal and estate planning, including the preparation of wills and protection mandates;
  • Preparing, drafting and presenting applications in non-contentious proceedings before a notary;
  • Preparing and managing certain non-contentious proceedings before the courts;
  • Drafting and executing notarial deeds and other legal documents required to complete mandates.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Master’s degree in notarial law;
  • Membership in good standing with the Chambre des notaires du Québec;
  • Accreditation in non-contentious proceedings before a notary, or a commitment to obtain such accreditation;
  • The ability to manage multiple files, priorities and deadlines simultaneously;
  • A strong client-service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills;
  • A high degree of professionalism, discretion, sound judgment and attention to detail.
