Global Capability Center (GCC) helps Growth centers of Xylem such as AWS, Treatment and Analytics in wide range of activities that include New Product Development, Value Engineering, Sustain Engineering and Software development. We partner with them to anticipate and respond to evolving business needs with innovation in sensing and communications technologies, data analytics and services.

Brief Description/Job Summary: Application Engineer (Disinfection Products)

GCC seeks to hire an Application Engineer who cancontribute to the growth of Xylem's Global Capability Center and its expansion into disruptive technology and business solutions. The position involves playing a key role in advancing Xylem water treatment technology capabilities. The Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, sizing, proposal, and costing of  disinfection products, and biological wastewater treatment processes. This role requires strong technical expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, mechanical, controls, and operations teams to deliver competitive solutions and successful project execution. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

• Providepre- and post-bid application engineering support, including process design, sizing, costing, and proposal preparation for disinfection products and biological treatment systems.
• Conducttender evaluations, review customer specifications, and engineering drawings
• Preparebudgetary and firm proposals, including detailed cost estimates, equipment sizing, and technical narratives.
• Draftoperating and functional descriptions, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
• Providetechnical support and CAD input for proposal drawings and layouts.
• Interact directly withcustomers, sales teams, and representatives to clarify technical queries and support project acquisition.
• Work closely withmechanical, instrumentation, and controls engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Performequipment selection and sizing of auxiliaries such as pumps, blowers, mixers, aeration equipment, sensors, and instruments etc.
• Compile complete engineering packages for proposals, including drawings, datasheets, and other required documentation.
• Conductproject risk analysis, compliance reviews, and deviation assessments.
• Independently manage deliverables with accountability forproject planning, scheduling, and timely execution.

Must Have:

• Strong technical knowledge of disinfection products such asUV system, chlorination’s, and biological wastewater treatment processes.
• Proficiency inprocess, hydraulic, heat and mass balance, and equipment sizing calculations.
• Familiarity withinternational standards, industry codes, and best practices for wastewater treatment.
• Ability to bridgetechnical and commercial aspects of projects, including costing and proposals.

Good to Have:  

• Working knowledge ofmechanical, piping, and instrumentation design integration.
• Hands-on/on-site exposure toerection, commissioning, and troubleshooting of wastewater treatment plants.
• Strongcross-functional communication and customer-facing skills.
• Awareness ofemerging technologies and digital tools in biological treatment and aeration.

Qualifications:

• 4-Year bachelor’s degree/4 + 2-Year master’s degree in Environment/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering field from a recognized university.
• 2–6 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater treatment engineering.
• Proven expertise inapplication engineering, proposal development, and process design for treatment plants.
• Knowledge of various water treatment technologies and technological advancements.
