JobSummary
TheCNCMillMachinistwillbebasedinBuffaloGrove,ILandreportstotheToolingManager. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. The CNC Mill Machinist will interpret technicaldrawings,performmachineadjustments,conductinspections,andsupportcontinuousimprovementinitiativestoensuresafe,efficient,andhigh-qualityproductionoperations.
PrincipleAccountabilities
Setup,operate,andtroubleshootCNCmillingmachinestomanufactureprecisioncomponentsaccordingtospecifications.
Interpretblueprints,engineeringdrawings,workinstructions,andGD&Trequirements.
Selectandinstallappropriatetooling,fixtures,andmachineoffsetsforproductionruns.
EditandmakeminoradjustmentstoCNCprogramstooptimizemachineperformanceandproductquality.
Monitormachineoperationsandmakenecessarycorrectionstomaintaindimensionalaccuracyandproductionefficiency.
Perform first-piece,in-process,andfinalinspectionsusingprecisionmeasuringinstrumentssuchasmicrometers,calipers,heightgauges,andboregauges.
Verifyproductconformancetoengineeringdrawings,customerspecifications,andqualityrequirements.
Record production data, inspectionresults,andmachineperformanceinformationaccurately.
Troubleshootmachiningissuesandcollaboratewithengineeringandqualityteamstoimplementcorrectiveactions.
Performroutinemachinemaintenanceandensureequipmentremainsinproperoperatingcondition.
Identifyopportunitiesforprocessimprovementsthatincreaseproductivity,reducescrap,andimprovequality.
Maintainaclean,organized,andsafeworkenvironmentinaccordancewithcompanystandards.
Supportleanmanufacturingandcontinuousimprovementinitiatives.
Assistintrainingandmentoringlessexperiencedmachinistsasneeded.
Followallsafety,quality,environmental,andregulatoryrequirementswhileperformingassignedduties.
OperateandtroubleshootCNCmillingmachineswhileoptimizingspeeds,feeds,andmachiningprocesses.
Setupcomplexparts,fixtures,andtooling,andperformCNCprogrameditsasrequired.
Select,install,andmaintainmillingcuttersandtoolingforprecisionmachiningapplications.
OperatemultipleCNCmachinessimultaneouslywhileensuringqualityandproductiontargetsaremet.
Performin-processandfinalinspectionsusingprecisionmeasuringequipmentandadvancedinspectiontechniques.
Interpretblueprints,technicaldrawings,and3Dmodelstosupportmachiningandsetuprequirements.
Applyknowledgeofinjectionmoldsandcomponentswhileutilizingcomputersystemstosupportmanufacturingoperations.
Workindependentlywithminimalsupervision,performpreventivemachinemaintenance,cross-trainteammembers,andmaintainahighlyorganizedworkenvironment.
Qualifications
Highschooldiplomaorequivalentrequired;technicalcertificationinMachiningTechnologypreferred.
Minimum4yearsofCNCmillingexperienceinamanufacturingenvironmentrequired.
Experience with Haas,Mazak,MoriSeiki,Okuma,orsimilarCNCmillingequipment.
Experience on Makino, Yasda, Roders, and Mikron milling machines is preferred
StrongexperiencesettingupandoperatingCNCverticalandhorizontalmillingmachines.
Abilitytoreadandinterpretcomplexblueprints,engineeringdrawings,andtechnicalspecifications.
Proficientintheuseofprecisionmeasuringequipmentandinspectionmethods.
WorkingknowledgeofGD&T(GeometricDimensioning&Tolerancing).
Experiencewithmachineoffsets,toolingselection,speedsandfeeds,andbasicCNCprogramediting.
Strongtroubleshootingandrootcauseanalysisskills.
Familiaritywithleanmanufacturingprinciplesandcontinuousimprovementmethodologies.
Computerproficiencyandabilitytoaccuratelycompleteproductionandqualitydocumentation.
Strongattentiontodetailandcommitmenttoproducinghigh-qualitywork.
Abilitytoworkindependentlyandcollaborativelyinafast-pacedmanufacturingenvironment.
Abilitytoliftupto50poundsandstandforextendedperiodswhileoperatingequipment.
