Cloud Imperium is looking for an enthusiastic and technically minded Principal Mission Designer to work on its ever-expanding Persistent Universe at its UK studiolocated in the heart of Manchester.  

You would be a part ofThe Mission Feature Team (MFT) made up of designers,aproducerand embedded QAs, andis responsible for many aspects of the game, such as creation of the first implementation of new missions to then be handed off to other departments who willleverage them to create further content. 

The team is also responsible for the generation of the content for regular in-game events or even the occasional demo.
 

Founded in 2012, Cloud Imperium Games createscutting-edge videogames that defy expectations.We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. WhatYou’ll Do 

• Collaborates with Narrative to build engaging stories for mission and locations 

• Design,document and ownfeatures, mechanics, missions, systems,etc as necessary. 

• Works in various in-house tools including Subsumption, a visual scripting editor to create logic for missions,systems and events 

• Works closely with various other departments to improve AI, gameplay, mechanics, tools whichimpact our work or ability to work 

Whatare we looking for: 

• Previous industry experience within AAA titles withownership of major features or missions. 

• Strong understanding ofvisual scripting orcoding fundamentals. 

• Ability to work bothindependently and collaboratively across disciplines 

• A proactive approach to mentoring peers and guiding junior designers. 

• An ability to develop relationships with other departments 

• The abilityto workwith and respectfrequent deadlines
